This BELDEEN character ain’t messing around. Dude has put the HWC on his shoulders over the last few months and has been doing some serious WORK. Proud to have him in the Iowa wrestling family. Talk about making an impact.

He’s a great example of a fan stepping forward and making a huge difference and a reminder that all of us can do the same. If you have a skill set you think could be put to good use for the HWC and/or Iowa wrestling, don’t be shy. Let them know. We can always do things better. I’ve always said our fans are our secret weapon, and BELDEEN is living proof of that.

I know a lot of people that would like to contribute but want to contribute around $10 or $15 per month. Every little bit helps right?

That has been discussed — it’s obviously an arbitrary cut-off. Of course, the idea is to maximize funds raised and encourage higher rather than lower levels of support, but you’re correct that every bit helps.

As you can imagine, offering a $15 level for example, might result in more $15 members and less $25, so you’re losing $120 per year every time that happens. So there can be unintended consequences, and you could end up with a net loss by offering a lower level even if the number of members increases. It’s not as straightforward as you might think.

Still, no doubt we want to be as inclusive as possible. I’ll run it up the flag pole.

As a long-time direct marketing fundraiser, I can tell you that targeting smaller donors almost always results in lower overall revenue, for exactly the reason that WWDM cited.
