If we were to lose tonight, would that drop us off the one line I wonder? Right now it would be a loss outside the top 50, but I think IU would move into the top 50 with a win. But it would still be 5 losses, as opposed to 3 for Maryland.
Am I the only one that wouldn't want to face Gonzaga again in the second round. They started a little slow, but still have two of the best players in all of college. I'm thinking Gonzaga moves up into the sixth seed range when it is all said and done.
That's the crazy thing this year is the amount of normally powerful teams on the 8/9 line. I've seen teams like Florida, Zaga, Pitt, UCONN all in that range. Hope we get lucky and have teams like Colorado or Seton Hall stay up there.Am I the only one that wouldn't want to face Gonzaga again in the second round. They are not the same team. I watched them vs St Marys a few weeks ago and while they have Wiltjer and Sabonis, that's about it. Their big man Karnusky is out for the year. That puts a lot of pressure on Sabonis to stay out of foul trouble. Plus their guards are no where near as good as last years group.
Watching that St Mary's game Wiltjer was relied on to do everything and he couldn't get open. Without a good PG, they have struggled and it shows. Now I am sure they will win the WCC again, beings their only real competition is BYU or St Marys. All the other teams are pretty bad.
I think Iowa would match up just fine with them this year.
Agreed.... after looking at the 2 links, I would definitely like to see the USA Today Bracketology play out compared to the ESPN one at this point.
Yes. No site has any specific games assigned to it at this point. The top 4 seeds in the four regions will be dispersed to the eight first&second round sites primarily geography based. The additional 48 teams will fill in the gaps. If you were seeing 1 & 2 in Des Moines, it was probably a bracket that had different seed assignments to Kansas & Iowa.I have a question about the Des Moines games. Can they swap out what seeds play at what sites? I could have swore that Des Moines had the 1/16, 8/9, 7/10, 2/15 games of the Midwest Region in the early projections...
That explains it. It had 1 Iowa and 2 KU. I'm not going crazy.Yes. No site has any specific games assigned to it at this point. Yea, Pangos killed us with the pick and roll, and Aaron white was god awful defensively. Uthoff is much quicker than Wiltjer and would give him problems on both ends. Aaron White is one of the biggest reasons this team has improved both offensively and defensively...and Aaron White graduated last year so someone would probably actually guard Wiltjer defensively. Pangos made that team go and they also lost Bell and Wesley as seniors. They are nowhere near as potent as last year. Doesn't mean it would be an easy match-up but I'd like our chances.
