What happened to Gunther? Lost his first match at 74. He needs to find some of last year's magic...
He got put on his back and gave up 4 points there. Never could recover
Took down in the 2nd after already getting a penalty point. Iowa needs to scout better. Pagano is a hammer on top and Gunther should have chose neutral after getting the penalty point. Gunther is better on his feet and could have won that match had he not choose down.
Maybe thinking of Young. He got 5th last year and definitely needs to find last years magic.
Spencer Lee, the #10 seed just beat Sean Russell who was an All American last year. Beat him 15-0. Crazy because Lee was just a state runner up last year. Hell of a job coaching by Tom and Terry.
Think of what they could do with Desanto the champ?!

We should work on a Desanto transfer for next year. Could use him at 133.
I actually would love to see this kid a Hawkeye at 133. Apparently his situation requires him to stay close to home, thus Drexel. I expect him to be a terror in the 133 rankings for the next 4 yrs.
Laux chose down 2 or 3 times he should not have as well. One of the times for sure he was thinking neutral and the coaches said take town.
Not to discredit his effort but we may have seen the last of Laux as a starter. As a senior he should be able to get out from bottom by now. I think it is time to let Glynn go and take what we get. A lot more upside there. Lauxs lack of quickness hold him back.
