CNN —
Foreign adversaries including Russia and China have recently directed their intelligence services to ramp up recruiting of US federal employees working in national security, targeting those who have been fired or feel they could be soon, according to four people familiar with recent US intelligence on the issue and a document reviewed by CNN.

The intelligence indicates that foreign adversaries are eager to exploit the Trump administration’s efforts to conduct mass layoffs across the federal workforce – a plan laid out by the Office of Personnel Management earlier this week.

Russia and China are focusing their efforts on recently fired employees with security clearances and probationary employees at risk of being terminated, who may have valuable information about US critical infrastructure and vital government bureaucracy, two of the sources said. At least two countries have already set up recruitment websites and begun aggressively targeting federal employees on LinkedIn, two of the sources said.

This is the whole point. To weaken the US. Putin and Xi have their moron in the Oval Office and are directing him to dismantle all our defenses, give them our Intel, and turn America into nothing more than the muscle so that Russia and China can become the world's superpowers.

If any of these former employees flip it begs the question, why were these people ever employed?

Foreign intelligence services have always targeted federal workers/military in financial trouble. This just makes it easier for them to be identified and targeted.

It’s one of the things insider threat training covers.

They've taken personality assessments and polygraph tests depending on job description.

True. But people’s situations change. Getting fired short notice is a pretty big change.
I'm really not arguing. But to paralyzed by fear when trying to downsize employees due to this seems counter productive to the end goal. If you're going to make the move, make the move and monitor he situation. It's not as if IC has not had issues, whether overstaffed, fully staffed or under staffed.

It’s not the downsizing. It’s the way it’s being done. The bull in a China shop approach is the wrong way to go about things. Institute a hiring freeze. Lower the roles through attrition. There are better ways to do this that aren’t near as disruptive.

What is taking place right now has to be the dumbest self sabotage of governance in human history. At least the Romans got brought down by outside invaders and corruption. This isn't immigrants doing this, this is white people making a choice. Just corruption and really stupid people.

They’re also lying about performance issues to fire people for cause. That would certainly create resentment when there otherwise might not be any.

If recent posts are any indication, China and Russia would have tremendous luck recruiting HROT leftwingers.

You voted the biggest Russian sympathizer in the country to be President who appointed a ton of other Russian sympathizers to leadership positions in a party full of Russian sympathizers (remember the group of Republicans who spent July 4 in Moscow?) who are certainly getting paid by Russians and you have the gall to type something like this out. Well Northern, you, in fact, are a Russian sympathizer. It's too bad for you that you don't have any skills the Russians or Chinese care about because they'd likely be knocking on your door too otherwise.

If they sit tight a couple months, I’m sure they’ll be able to buy whatever they want direct from the administration.
Still smart to play the long game, assets that can be utilized for decades.

I'm pushing 60, I'm not sure if all the damage that's going to be done to this country in the next 4 years will be fixable in the rest of my lifetime even if I live to 90.

Not sure why Russia would they already have the White House.

Kind of sucks that Eloon's boys didn't fire people in an organized fashion and remember to do the little things like make sure computer access was shutdown, or that files weren't downloaded. Too bad that the FBI will be chasing the missing Epstein files and investigating Jack Smith while Russia and China pick our pocket.

The headlines the lefties on here have posted very clearly cite examples of computer access being shutdown. lol. Your own propaganda refutes your own propaganda. Regarding files being downloaded, of which there is zero credible evidence, there is a mechanism that is in place, and if it failed, that speaks more loudly to the incompetence of the NIC than it does Elon Musk who didn't design that system. I'm not sure the level of his security clearance even gives him access to that.

But carry on posting fantasy that contradicts previous posts it seemingly is designed to support. It's entertaining.
