USPS 8/7 update

Let's keep posting about the USPS and ignore the many stories about mail in voting that are ruining elections. You libs are amazingly one sided.

This is not the fault of the USPS.

The city BOE received 403,103 mail-in ballots for the June 23 Democratic presidential primary.

But the certified results released Wednesday revealed that only 318,995 mail-in ballots were counted.

That means 84,108 ballots were not counted or invalidated — 21 percent of the total.

One out of four mail-in ballots were disqualified for arriving late, lacking a postmark or failing to include a voter’s signature, or other defects. The Post reported Tuesday that roughly 30,000 mail-in ballots were invalidated in Brooklyn alone.

Not worried about fault. Local CBS in NY did a story about problems with USPS and the ballots lost. The point is mail in balloting that the libs keep crying for is rife with issues just in the small sample sizes we've had so far this year whether it be problems with USPS or counting of ballots. If people can protest, they can vote. If we can go out to eat with masks, you can go vote with masks. Feign outrage over stupid crap is what the libs drive. Guarantee if they thought mail in voting wouldn't go their way they'd be screaming to the heavens about it.

So, what do the cons suggest to insure safe and secure voting this year?

USPS has to go

fed ex and UPS have made it obsolete

Sorry
UPS has been awful the last couple months. Anything UPS is delivering to me is taking twice as long to get to me after I get the notification that my item has been shipped than items I get delivered by FedEx or USPS

UPS has announced big surcharges pending for the upcoming holiday season.

This is one of those Trump administration moves that clearly hurts red state citizens more, but his supporters will cheer it on. Then when those rural voters lose postal delivery service the Republicans will somehow convince those voters that it's the Democrats fault.
Name one substantive thing Trump has done that has actually helped his rural, red state base?

60 cents to mail a ballot is an issue? A manufactured one perhaps.
For cash strapped governments during a pandemic, it just might be. And, it is not warranted. Sending out ballots is essentially bulk mailing with less handling required.
This is just one in many efforts to hamstring voter participation.

I love this site for pearls like this.
What is the rationale for a unilateral price hike months before an election? Was any consideration given to the impact upon the election? Large scale disruptions in mail delivery have already been reported. The USPS isn't a private corporation. There should be public disclosure of all decision making. We should know what input the board of governors made, and why they thought immediate changes would improve service, which was the stated goal. Shouldn't the new boss of the USPS be available for congressional testimony?

Made mask wearing optional, demanded states open up, kept them from socialist healthcare, made sure rich people don't lose money, fought for the right of flying a traitor flag, no kneeling, keeping the minimum wage low, pretending to care about Christianity, etc. What more could a good ole boy or girl want?

What more, indeed. Roll on tubby.

Just said it. Why does it have to be any different? Wear a mask and distance at the booth. No different than going to places we are going today.

No it’s not being sabotaged it’s an inefficient waste of taxpayer dollars

let the free market work.

USPS needs to be put out of its misery

USPS receives $0 tax payer dollars. USPS delivers a lot of packages for the free market competitors the last miles to all parts of the United States. All on $0 tax payer dollars. So troll on, dweeb.

except for the fact that my local fedex and ups outsource some of their delivery services through usps. Seems to me that they have two different models, different goals, and even different customers. But I’m open to your full analysis.

Correct. FedEx and UPS also do not deliver to every household six days a week. It’s apples to oranges. I’m not saying at all the USPS is horribly inefficient, it no doubt has plenty of room to improve.
