I think the key to success for next years team is how well our young guards protect the ball. If we can limit turnovers and a least get a good shot on most of our possessions we give ourself a punchers chance. Connor might not be flashy but he doesn't turn the ball over a makes good decisions. I think Keegan plays hard and makes good decisions. He will have more of a leadership role next year. If Joe T. can cut down on his turnovers it will be key. I think when Kris gets his feet wet we will see that he is a heady player that can handle the ball and make good decisions. Ulis and Perkins will have a learning curve but I think are tough and will not back down. Take good care of the ball, play tough defense and you will always give yourself a chance.

Didn’t the team set some sort of NCAA record for assist to turnover ratio this past season?

I imagine our style will be completely different next year, with a more effective, pressure defense, more dribble drive, less 3's and but also more turnovers. I do agree that we will have to limit those as best we can. The good news is that I anticipate more assists with guys cutting to the basket for easy dunks/layups/alley-oops. It will be difficult to lose the scoring and leadership of Garza, Weezy, JoBo and even CJF. But the new mix will bring completely different strengths. I just hope Fran is able to leverage those and coach up the youngsters.

I expect turnovers forced to be up with more minutes from the Murray’s, Perkins, and Toussaint. We’ll probably turn it over more too, but if the Hawks can convert a high percentage in transition, I think turnover battles will tend to favor Iowa

That stat needs more evaluation.
Garza was a huge assist conversion machine but the volume of lazy passes , steals and such that Iowa pretty much gave away was too high and I doubt they will have that level of assist conversion any time soon.

Don't diminish what was done. Iowa ranked 4th best as a team in turnovers per game in the NCAA last year. They led in assists per game but they did a damn good job on both.

Yep i was going to say the same thing. Turnovers will be key, forcing them on the other team and limiting ours. Our length and quickness on d should be able to force quite a few. Just have to limit our own. I think next year our press is going to be salty with the length matched with quickness, pmac at the point of the press will be aaron white-esque
