In a near miss, it was #8 Miami - 39, Cal - 38.
And then there was Kirk Ferentz and his poor little developmental program that managed to score a TD against OSU reserves in a 35-7 loss to #3 Ohio State.
Hooray? LOL
Those were some terrific football games. Exciting, entertaining, everything you could want for your money's worth. Iowa @ OSU? Not . . . so . . . much.
But KF, they say, is a nice guy. He's won a lot of games. He's been head coach for more than a quarter of a century. He is bigger than the Iowa football program.

Minnesota had a chance to kick a FG on 4th and goal from inches away from the goal line with about a minute to go against USC last night and the game tied. But the boat rower so many on here love to mock went for the TD. Minnesota scored, and that led to the upset. Had Minny pulled a Ferentz and tried the chip shot FG, even if they had made it, USC stormed down the field and would have easily kicked a game-tying FG to send it to OT. But Fleck wasn't having it. He was, you know, playing to win. And he won.
Meanwhile, back at OSU, Iowa had 4th and less than a yard from around midfield. KF called a fake punt, which went for the first down. Yay! Wait . . . what? KF called timeout before the snap. The play didn't count. So then KF calls for a punt . . . that goes about 15 yards. LOL
The old man is toast. This has to be his final season. Beth should offer him the chance to retire with dignity or get fired. His choice. But this BS has to stop. Brian was a symptom. KF is the disease. IMHO, of course.
