If the Eagles don't get 'em the bird flu will...Hope no one’s pet cat is out today!
The multitude of squirrels that were out earlier are now hunkered in their nests. For the record, we have 7 squirrel nests in our 5 backyard trees!Where you see one of those big boys you will NOT see other birds.
Ospreys take sudden vacations and hawks are nowhere to be found.
They are the King of the hill for sure.
GREAT pics and thank you for sharing.
I’m flogging it to Lee Greenwood as we speakKinda makes you want to pop on some Lee Greenwood and hug the flag
Crows. Both are first and foremost scavengers.Where you see one of those big boys you will NOT see other birds.

Kill the cat, kill the virus. If the Eagles don't get 'em the bird flu will...
Thanks Captain O.that's a bald eagle if you didn't know the raptor species.
That would be a murder of crows there, my ornithologically challenged HORTer...Frequently see a group of crows near but not challenging the eagle.
Probably why crows will hang with bald eagles......a tough gang name. That would be a murder of crows there, my ornithologically challenged HORTer...
eagles also don't screech like is always depicted. Hawks screech. Eagles chirp. CSBBald eagles are also scavengers, and they're also bullies and thieves. Here at Tradition Manor, it's common to see them out on the lake, waiting for an osprey to catch a fish (ospreys are better fishers). Then the eagle will harass the osprey until it drops the fish and the eagle steals it!
I know... CSB.
Lute never disappoints.Torbee's home is in close proximity to Duck Creek Park.
This 211 acre park includes a golf course. Perhaps this
raptor was messing around in the park and felt invited
to your home as well. Enjoy the wild life and the wild side
of life in Davenport.
Saw one in the median on our way to Bemidji last week. Snacking on some kind of carrion. He gave us the evil eye so I kept right on driving.Crows. Both are first and foremost scavengers.
DSM area often see bald eagles scrounging on road kill...especially deer who have crawled off to a field near the road. Frequently see a group of crows near but not challenging the eagle.
