I raised this in another thread but thought it might be fun enough to discuss in its own thread. Here's my slightly modified original post:

What about the possibility of Trump being VP?

My instant reaction is that his ego won't permit him to accept being #2. But is that really true?

Despite all the mockery aimed at the office, it's still a damn impressive accomplishment. He won't get another chance at P, so why not?

Would he really turn down the opportunity to sail into his golden-haired years with that feather in his cap?

As for campaigning as VP - can you think of a better attack dog than Donald Trump? It's what he does best! He could say anything he wants and if his principal is asked about anything, he can just brush it off as "Oh, that's just Donald..." and the press would let it go.

As for what he could bring as the VP, well he does bill himself as a great deal-maker. If there's any truth to that - and I assume there is - why not use him that way? Get him involved in trade deals, peace deals, whatever. Send him to funerals and whatnot, while the president does the real work.

Well, it may be a great thought for the President. Just like the impact of Joe Biden it pretty much eliminates the risk of assassination!!!!

I actually like this idea. He's the wildcard.

Just Donald being Donald.

He would never be the second string. He'd never be the one not in the limelight. He'd be incapable of tolerating the tedious work a VP does.

Hell, he's incapable of tolerating the tedious work a president does.

That's why I set it up the way I did. You don't give him the tedious work. You give him the role of the flamboyant public figure, traveling around the world to meetings, attending weddings and funerals, hobnobbing with those who need their nobs hobbed. Hed' love it. And if he actually is good at making deals, so much the better.

I think Trump would rather write books, do speaking appearances and make reality TV than be VP.

I'm actually not convinced he wouldn't rather do those things than be president
