I think Tom is a little down. Perhaps the loss of Stoll took its toll. And it's not easy watching tow guys basically quit in the third.

He just got his butt kicked two weeks in a row, and there is no championship in sight. He's facing the dank reality that Iowa is probably going to go a full decade without a championship.

Losing Stoll was a huge blow. Than watching Holloway quit out there was the icing on the cake. I would have hated to be Holloway last night. I have been high on him but he needs a come to Jesus meeting with himself to see how bad he wants it. I hate questioning effort but that was not the performance of an athlete that is practicing hard enough to be a champion.

Maybe he was joking that Carl beat him to the interview, i.e. was first before Tom. Just a guess.

I watched Sandersons interview. Didn't see anything that would illicit that response.

Afhawk is correct. He was just saying Cael beat him to the interview. There is nothing more to it.

There is a concept put forth called the Stockdale Paradox. "You must retain faith that you will prevail in the end and must also confront the most brutal facts of your current reality". Sometimes the rigorous effort it takes day in and day out wears on us. Recruiting is harder, motivation is tougher to find. Still Tom seems to me to be the right leader for our program. Stay the course kid!
