I just got an email stating the VOTH was publishing its last issue. anyone know the deal. Personally I dropped my print subscription when publication of the broadsheet was stopped and replaced by a slick cover monthly magazine. I really liked the broadsheet.

I subscribed to that publication for close to 30 years. I used to love to receive those once a week during BB and FB seasons. I don't know what happened. The websites and blogs are fine but there was always something about going back to look at the pics and predictions. Oh well....

I was a subscriber until about five years ago. Much of info redundant to what I was already getting on this board and others. Used to love getting the weekly issue in mail. Enjoyed coverage of minfor sports too.

Think I stil have the original issue stored away somewhere.

I subscribed to VOTH back in the early 90s. I was living in Vegas at the time and there was very little info about the Hawks around there so the publication kept me connected to everything Hawkeye. Sorry to read they are shutting down.

Voice of the Hawkeyes.....weren't they around before everybody else (Rivals, Scout, etc)?

I wonder why they did not survive the internet age?

Was Al Grady in that issue? That was vital to someone on West Coast....Loved it.

Th
I had absolutely no idea that VOTH was still being printed.
me either. The only one i miss was the crown jewel of all publications. HRN. Seeing a thick envelope in the mail with HRN recruiting news was the best feeling in the world. RIP Paul

I let my subscription lapse a couple years ago. I was given a subscription as a Christmas gift the first year and started receiving it shortly after the first couple issues. I just found almost all the same info online.

Back before the Iowa sites on the internet, Voice of The Hawkeyes was very important to us out-of-staters. My subscription started in 1986 and I think it went through about 1999. Mike Chapman did a heckuva good job with VOTH, and yes Al Grady wrote an always good column. No matter how hard my day at work, if I came home and found VOTH or Paul Boettcher's Hawkeye Recruiting Notebook in the mail, I was happy. Sometimes I would turn around and go get beer to drink while reading the latest Hawkeye news.

It's another print publication that was killed by the internet. I'm not saying that as a bad thing against Hawkeye Report or other websites. Competition is the rule in business. Even we old farts know that getting same-day information is better than five day-old information. I did love Voice of The Hawkeyes though.

I have a subscription to the Cubs Vineline mag, and they just emailed me last week that it’s going to end this year too.

My parents used to get my brother and I a subscription to Voice of the Hawkeyes back from around '92 to '97 or so. Used to love getting home from school on Wednesdays during football season and knowing the review of that week's game (hopefully a win) and preview of the next was waiting. Also stats for the season weren't just a click away like they were nowadays, so that was how I kept track. I think during winter it was an issue every two weeks to catch up on basketball and wrestling. The football preview issues were usually in magazine form and chocked full of info so when those arrived you knew the season was upon us.

Yes Al Grady column made it worth the subscription but once I became more of online person with HR, alot of info became redundant.

My grandma had a subscription for the longest time, I always enjoyed reading it as a kid when smart phones weren’t a normal thing or having ready access to a computer. It always hyped me up for the football season.

Kind of a shame to see it go.

I am pretty sure the printed version stopped last year or in 2016. Still had the online version you could read tho.
