Wadley heading to TN :(

TN is a good landing spot. Only two established RBs on the roster and only 4 total. Their 3rd back is probably active roster and 4th back is practice squad. Looks like 3 backs for 2 spots.

3 in 11 years....so it's not really a thing.

Shocker. With his ability to catch the ball and elusiveness I think he would have been a great fit in Green Bay but what do I know? I’m pumped about JJ being a GBP but outside of that (and the kid from L’Ville) I wasn’t blown away be their draft.

Packers need RB, how can they not address that need?
Once you get past the top four or five RBs, there is a giant pool out there to choose from. No need to burn a draft pick on anyone not capable of cracking your starting rotation. And they have notoriously short shelf lives. Between a large graduating class and free agency, running backs are plentiful.

Teams burn picks on players who are unproven at positions. Like QBs being switched to the secondary. Not sure I agree that AW=wasted pick.

I can agree that with the right fit Wadley will make a team. I am a Bears fan so everything the Packers get from Iowa is bittersweet!

The Hawks have been good to them over the years. Hyde, Bulaga, Mike Daniels, and now JJ...I actually cheer for anyone that wore a Hawkeye jersey unless the play for the Patriots. That is my no go zone.

Wadley will make his money in the RB pass game. He can regularly split out and catch screens and so forth for the Titans. Hope he finds a long term niche.

Maybe things haven't changed much after the Front office and coaching staff shake up. That would be pretty sad. They need to do everything they can to take full advantage of Rodgers final years.

Wadley is so versatile and much tougher than his weight indicates. He will stick in the league I think and some team is going to make out like a bandit until it comes time for the wad to renegotiate...

The packers had 2 rookie RB Williams and jones play well last year. Montgomery is their Wadley. He will be all over backfield and slot creating mismatches. Having wadley would be great but rb not a need for them.

I’m stunned Wadley wasn’t drafted, the guy can flat out ball. He’s a lot like Ronnie Harmon but I think he has more quicks and wiggle than Ronnie. Iirc Harmon had a very nice NFL career. Wish my Broncos had taken him, just happy they took the Outlaw!

No offense to Akrum, but Harmon, despite my current opinion of him, was something special.

I didn't say a draft pick on AW would be wasted. I said there was no need to use one on him when you could get him (or someone similar) without it.

If he doesn’t make Tennessee’s squad he will be signed by their practice squad, and if not he’ll be signed by someone else’s squad.

As much as I love Wadley and want him to succeed, I’m not sure he’ll make it in the NFL.

Let’s hide this article from all running back recruits. Two most prolific backs combined for 71 TDs and one of them managed to be drafted in the 3rd round by the Jets.

NFL running backs by and large are recruited, not developed. The NFL values supreme athleticism at that position. So until we start recruiting 4 star running backs, don’t expect much to change. Wadley’s problem is for his his skill set—change of pace, elusiveness—he lacks elite top end speed. He simply doesn’t have the physical size to be valued a a feature back in the NFL.

What’s your favorite kind of cheese?

I think Wadley's size hurt him and that he didn't have elite speed. I also think his lack of dedication to becoming a stronger and bigger back hurt him. You have to be dedicated as hell to make it in the NFL on and off the field. That being said, he is the kind of playmaker that I could see making a team as an undrafted player.
