Wanna be like Mike?

Impressive highlights, although I could only watch a couple of minutes with the nasty background noise.

Why didn't he play like that at iowa
Someone must have worked with him to develop the skills he needed at that level. Man, he looks like a different player, doesn't he?

I'm also impressed with Jarrod's play. He has become quite a scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker at the NBADL, and NBA level.

Clearly, as evidenced by FOUR CONSECUTIVE THREE STAR RECRUITS MAKING FIRST TEAM ALL CONFERENCE

I'm not a big believer in coaches developing players anyway. Sure the have some to do with it but I think it's more the players themselves. Maturing and developing on their own.

I've always said, that's the difference between a Student/Athlete and a pro-athlete. Mike was a tremendous student that played D1 basketball. Now, basketball is his profession. Iowa is not like the Duke's. they don't tailor a students degree around basketball.

His team must not be very good. In almost every highlight his team is behind.

He does look stronger with both hands and quicker than last year. Hindsight 20/20 would have been nice to redshirt him. Quick look at his stats: 10ppg, 4apg, 3pt=35%, FT=69%, 1.5 topg.
He is definitely quicker, and he is super aggressive. He's a leaping shot blocker!!

If this was true, none of the pro golfers would have coaches.

Yeah, the Champions League games, Bakken is in last place and getting their asses kicked as we see by the scores. I scanned the rosters and recognized only a couple players' names. Their home Danish league, 1st place.

If I had to guess, I'd say think of it as MVC level, only the players keep playing as a pro league.

Nothing wrong with that, gettin' paid is gettin' paid.

Mike was always impressive when he played with a scorers mentality. That wasn't his role at Iowa, he seemed to always be questioning when he should go and when he should facilitate.

I guess I was referring to basketball only. Golf is a lot more technical in my opinion. All I know is Dean Smith didn't make MJ who he was, MJ did. That and he had God given talent.

If he would have played like he did at North Carolina and a couple other games he would have went down as one of the greatest Hawkeyes of all time.

Mike did play like that here. Unfortunately, every time he drove to the basket in college, the refs allowed the opposing team to smack him down to the floor without giving him the benefit of the foul call.
