No one is saying they were planned "feints". This is war and adapting to changing circumstances is part of it. The ability to do so may mean victory or defeat. Putin wanted Kyiv quickly to end the conflict quickly. When that didn't happen they adjusted course to concentrate on the greater objective, the freeing of the Donbass from Ukrainian control and the denazification of the right wing battalions. That mission is well on it's course.
