Was not able to watch game so was wanting to know if our struggles continue and we beat an avg team or is Temple that good?

Some really idiotic choices at the end of the game from us.
Also.... more bad shots! Between that and the poor D rebounding again....I'm not liking our odds sunday.
I think we scored as much the first 10 minutes as we did the last 30 of regulation.

DeCosey is sick. Temple was better much than I expected. All the "not good offensively" analysis I heard the last few days is total bs.
He was struggling the last 8 games. Iowa ahold of went at him when he was in with 3 fouls.

They are who we thought they were, I guess. Temple is pretty bad.

We played like typical good Iowa for the first 3/4 of the game and, for the last 1/4, like typical bad Iowa, the bad Iowa that loses to anybody, including a Temple team that is--well, like I said--pretty bad.

Nothing new was learned today.

It was Iowa's worst or 2nd-worst shooting game of the year at 35%.

They had one decent player on their team, and that was it. Their post-seaon choker of a coach is now 3-16 all-time in the tourney in his 25 year coaching career.

Temple deserves some credit. Iowa definitely didn't have their "A game," but Temple was decent.

Both Iowa teams took turns playing today. The, "I can beat anyone", team was there but the other one, the, "something is wrong with us" team showed up way too much. That 2nd Iowa team can't show up at all if they want to beat Villanova.

Iowa played horribly and still won. That's all that matters.

How many other teams in the country could shoot 34% from the field, get outrebounded by 11 and still win the game in the NCAA tourney? Add in the fact that Temple shot a respectable 45% from the field and only had 12 turnovers and it makes it that more impressive.

Hawks won.
They were not good. Temple was worse.
This is not the Iowa team of January.

BUT, they didn't have a first round flame-out.
They didn't lose another close game.
They didn't fall victim to their bone-headed end of game decision making yet again.

Much better than being sparty or purdont and falling flat against inferior opponents when it matters most.

Temple was better than advertised. But Iowa also played a terrible 2nd half. That stretch around 11min to 7min was awful basketball. Both teams were gassed and throwing up ugly shots.

Iowa again did not attack the paint and settled for jump shots. Not good.

A team that only commits 3 turnovers and shoots 17-22 from the free throw line vs the opponents 6-9.

Temple basically played to their averages. I talked about this before the game. They came in averaging 68 ppg and giving up 67 ppg. I figured given that and the way Iowa had been playing lately, that a close game was pretty much a guarantee. The difference was Iowa made a few more plays down the stretch and Temple was the last one to miss the crucial free throw.

Did anyone check out their schedule? They played UNC, Villanova, Utah, Butler, Wisky, Minny, UConn (2), Memphis (2), Tulsa (2), etc. They are used to playing good and/or known teams.

One thing is for certain we can all agree on, Iowa is a heavy underdog sunday vs villanova, Iowa will have to play their best game of the season to beat nova without a doubt. If woodbury doesnt tip that ball in, this game may have went to 6 overtimes. Both teams were awful.

Iowa shot 34% from the field and 25% from 3 after starting the first 5 minutes out on fire. If it wasn't for just 3 turnovers, they would have been in big trouble.

Iowa played a lot of reeeaaally good games, but they definitely have to play their best game in the last 5 or 6 weeks.

The other 10 seeds were Syracuse, VCU, and Pittsburgh. I don't think we beat any of those teams if we played like we did yesterday.

With that said, there are no "bad" teams that can make the NCAA tournament as an at-large team. I don't think Temple is bad, but I still believe it was a lucky draw for Iowa to play them.

After the first 10 min, Iowa was awful on offense. The big two settled for low percentage jumpers most of the game, and the rest of the guys showed that they can't make a layup. Pete started with a lot of energy, but looked like he was running in sand for the last two thirds of the game. Jarrod was pressing, when it became clear that no one besides him could score.

Temple plays hard and Decorsey (sp?) is hard to guard. They destroyed Iowa on the boards for most of the game, although Iowa rebounded better down the stretch. I think Temple would have been lucky to finish .500 in the B1G, but would have won some games.

Iowa will need to play much better to beat Nova.

More of Iowa letting off the gas, defensive lapses, miss ft's is why Temple made that a game. Nothing against Temple, but they would probably be around 9/10/11 in the B1G. Not very impressed.

Make the lay ups and we still only shoot 40% but we probably win by 10-15 in regulation.

Iowa should have put that game away and won by double figures, but they can't seem to get out of their own way. I'd sure as hell rather be in Iowa's shoes today than the many other teams who are headed home.

Some of these comments about us are pretty weird and despite all of our games being on national TV, I'm willing to bet I've watched more Iowa basketball than any of you have watched Temple basketball.

I don't think we're a great team, but we're certainly not a bad basketball team. Obi had an awful game. We have more than just DeCosey.
