I think Iowa has to go 2-0 in these to make the conference tournament. None of the other games really matter. I know some say they don't care, and we'll move on from Fran quicker. The replacement will likely be coaching late into March. Might as well save the embarrassment and at least make the conference tournament.

I'll see the score results, but I won't go out of my way to make time to watch games next season if he's back.

These supposed good recruits won't mean much in the end because they won't be coached to play defense or give any real effort towards rebounding.

If the other remaining games go pretty much according to plan, Iowa, indeed, will have to win both of those games to remain above the BTT cut line:

By whatever strategy is best, wave goodbye to Fran and get some relatively young firebrand in here who will make Iowa men's basketball a thing again over night. That's what Beth was hired to do . . . along with prying KF outta his rocker ASAP . . . so if she can't do it, she needs to find the nearest exit.

I won't go as far to say she should be fired, but the decision should be easy. If she makes the call to retain Fran then I do have serious doubts if she is the right person for the AD job.

Better defense scoring average? Win rebounding battles consistently? Upper half of conference? conference titles…how soon? Sweet 16 appearances? Final 4 appearances? What’s it gonna take for your support?

More balanced team, better roster construction, understands how to identify guards that can play in the Big 10.
Well, there are 18 teams and winning the conference title is a pretty big challenge for all 18. Contending every few years for a Top 4 conference finish seems reasonable.
2 Sweet 16 appearances or better each decade seems reasonable. Fans can forgive a down year if there is hope or recent tournament success.
A coach that identifies issues and works to correct them unlike Fran has shown.
Regardless, with the revenue sharing and being in a P2 conference, there are really few excuses and no reason for Iowa to have a coach for 15 years that produces average at best results. BB teams can be reshaped in one off season.

I'd start with
