My grandson is autistic and took a long time to start talking. Once he did his vocabulary expanded at a pretty incredible rate.
There's a wide variance on autism spectrum but I think this could be plausible. Maybe it was because she was by herself that she expressed herself so well.
It appears she had been verbal for a while, she just never told her mom she loved her.
Says had been non verbal and just started talking. Unless the timeline is much different than the article.
