The Bulls roster is not very good; the Bulls record is not very good. And now it looks like he is losing his team after having to bench his 2 best players after comments they made on Wednesday.
Fred is only in year 2 of his 5 year, $25M contract with the Bulls; the contract is guaranteed, so he gets the $25M if he lasts 5 years or if he doesn't.
This is gonna be interesting because if he is fired from the Bulls, P5 schools will be lining up to hire him, imo.
From ESPN.com:
Dwayne Wade and Jimmy Butler (of the Bulls) started the controversy when they questioned the desire of the team's younger players following a loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. Rajon Rondo fired back a day later, criticizing Wade and Butler in an Instagram post. All three players were fined, and Wade and Butler were held out of the starting lineup as punishment. The three players were fined for airing grievances in the media and on social media. General manager Gar Forman made his displeasure known in a team meeting and in individual talks with the players.
As part of his Instagram post, Rondo said his "vets" with the Celtics didn't take days off and didn't call out players publicly, a clear shot at Wade. The Instagram post had a picture of him, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett.
"I could take that as a personal attack," Wade said. "But what's that going to do for me? Come in here and fight Rajon because he said his vets practiced every day? I'm 35. I'm not practicing every day. That's very clear."
ESPN Bulls reporter Nick Friedell says the team is emotionally exhausted by the talk surrounding the team and that the best thing coach Fred Hoiberg has going for him is the amount of time remaining on his contract (over 3 years).

The Bulls GM and Jimmy Butler speak here. Butler seems like complete jerk and not a team guy. He says he has no regrets.

ESPN Bulls reporter Nick Friedell says that within the locker room, it is clear that lines have been drawn between Jimmy and Dwyane and everybody else. When asked if Fred still had the respect of all of his players, Friedell said this: "I think the players like Fred personally. But professionally, the answer is 'no.' Fred has not had control of the team, especially the veterans at times. I think this is the latest example of Jimmy and Dwanyne going off on top of Rondo going off on Instagram. Fred is trying to figure out the rotation on the fly and that hasn't worked. People have asked me in the last year and a half since Hoiberg has been coach of the Bulls if this team has tuned him out. I don't think they ever tuned him in."
