Iowa HS GBB has tipped.
Megan Meyer (Mason City 2019) averaged 19.5 ppg, shot 52% from the field (including 6-10 from three) as rhey won the first two. Also 4.5 reb and 4.5 steals.
Sharon Goodman (Crestwood 2020) had 24 points and 11 reb in her opener. She made 11-14 shots.
Shateah Wetering (Montezuma 2020) had 20 points and 5 rebounds in her game. It appears she is transitioning to more perimeter play. She shot 6 threes, and made 3.

Does Iowa have any post prospects for next years class? With Megan and Hannah graduating it seems we'll be thin at the post with only Monika and Paula coming back.
No true posts beside Monika and Paula, but they have some forwards that rebound well in Amanda ar 6-1, Logan at 6-1, and Makenna Warnock coming in at 6-2.
Unless some kind of transfer or late add happens it will be Monika in the post. Lisa referred to her as "our future" in the post.

Shateah Wetering had 25 points (including 4-7 from three) in a close loss to #10 North Linn at Rivalry Week.
Gabbie Marshall had 7 points in her opening game against #8 nationally Africentric. Lost 60-55. This was a Journey to the Tourney event. In the second game MND won over Toledo ND and Gabbie was named player of the game.

Since the Whitney Jennings scandal that was covered up by the University Iowa has not been able to get any top recruits. With this being Bluder's last year of her contract I believe she will be retiring at the end of this year.
Maybe we can get the guy that has those D1 daughters. He was a coach back in the day.
Possible late add for 2019? Jelena Mitrovic, 6-9 from Serbia. Likely to be the tallest player in the competition and certainly a nightmare defensive assignment for any of her opponents, Mitrovic is an intriguing prospect and built in the 'old school basketball' mould. In the modern age, that doesn't mean she is a throwback or somehow lesser of a player than anyone else. The Serbian center offers a real traditional puzzle for those who have to stop her and guard her. Keeping her off the boards and from cleaning up put-back scores is a challenge and she has a nice touch and runs the floor well for her huge size. She could be dominant and knows at least one of the courts in Udine from when she shone two years ago, playing there at U16.

Jelena is a good prospect based on her online film. Hopefully Iowa's depth chart & player development in post is attractive. Megan Meyer, 5-9 PG, is averaging 24.7 ppg (shooting 47.8% from 3pt) for her 5-1 Mason City team. Also 79% from the Ft line. She had scored 36 points in 3 quarters in her last game before injuring her ankle.
Gabbie Marshall, 5-9 PG, is averaging 10.2 ppg for her Mount Notre Dame team. They are 4-1, with the only loss to #3 nationally Africentric by 5 points.
Mckenna Warnock, 6-1 W, is averaging 30.9 ppg and 12.7 reb for her 6-1 Monona Grove team. Shooting 57% from the field and 71% from the line. She had a 39 point, 29rebound game in their 80-78 win over Milwaukee Academy

I know oakhawk knows more about women's basketball and Iowa's women basketball team that I will ever know, but Sharon Goodman is from Cresco (Crestwood High School) in Northern Iowa rather than Creston in S.W. Iowa. They are similar sized schools.
Recruiting for the 2019 and 2020 classes makes it seem like future teams will be more perimeter orientated offensively. Monika and Paula are the only pure posts for the 2019-2020 season as of now. We add Sharon for 2020-2021, but even then that's not a lot of post options.
Meanwhile both McKenna and Shateah seem tall and athletic enough to guard the opposing team's "4", while playing like wings offensively.

I know her father was a WBB coach at Iona & they also lived in the Midwest (ILL or WI) not long ago.
McKenna Warnock has been hitting the boards. In her last three games she has had 29,21, and 20 rebounds. Averaging 29.9 points and 14.6 reb on the season. Her team is 8-1.

Megan Meyer is back from her ankle injury. With her out, Mason City lost by 45. With her back, they beat two good clubs. She had 29 in the win over Clear lake, and followed with 27 in a win over Waukee.
Shateah Wetering had 20 as Montezuma moved to 9-1 on the year.

McKenna Warnock continued her amazing year with 44 points and 17 rebounds as Monona Grove won their 10th straight. She is averaging 31.7 ppg and 15.3 rebounds on the season.

If she doesn’t play center, we’re in trouble. Coaches obviously don’t have a lot of confidence in Monika at this point. Lisa probably won’t mind a 5 that can shoot 3s.
Monika has done well when she is in. I don't think they lack confidence in her, they just have a lot more in Megan. And in the few minutes that Megan isn't in, they slide another SR in Hannah over.
