WBB recruiting for the future

Lauren Jensen is #15 for North Tartan

This one is from 2018...

... I believe Bueckers was with Lauren J (#11) on North Tartan last summer.

How good is she in volleyball? If not outstanding, she might have a chance at Minnesota, Nebraska or Texas. But she will at Iowa.

According to the online sources I’ve seen, Lauren Ware is an excellent VB player. Maybe as good as basketball. But perhaps more germane to the discussion is the fact that she has already began taking her official visits (Nebraska recently was her first). Although I have not seen anything online, it is reasonable to think that she has already scheduled her other four allowed visits. The timing of the recent offer to Taylor Lauterbach, suggests to me that the Hawkeyes did not make her final cut. I hope I’m wrong, but if not, Miss Lauterbach would be a very welcome consolation.

Looks like Stuelke finished 9th throwing the discuss at the state meet yesterday.

Stuelke 4th in her heat and 10th fastest yesterday.
She runs fast and throws far -- good candidate for heptathlon!

In the Big Ten outdoor track & field championships last week, the two Iowa women in heptathlon were 1, 2, at most 3 in all the running and jumping events, but were hampered by the two throwing events and let the top spot slip away.

University of Texas coach is on selection committee and is attempting to sway Clark to Texas where clarks good friend and Texas 2019 commit Celeste Taylor also made team. All high school players not committed were selected. Pays to wait.

HawkCentral:
Iowa's women's basketball program adds its first 2021 commit in Michigan standout A.J. Ediger

A.J. Ediger, a 6-foot-2 forward from Michigan, committed to the Hawkeyes on Sunday afternoon via Twitter. Ediger chose Iowa over offers from Xavier, Nebraska, Illinois, Illinois State and others.
As a sophomore, Ediger led Hamilton High School to a 25-1 record and earned Associated Press second-team all-state honors.

Hamilton basketball standout commits to University of Iowa

Hamilton forward A.J. Ediger still has a lot of high school basketball to go since she will be a junior in the fall. The 6-foot-2 forward already has a plan in place once she graduates, though. She’s going to remain a Hawkeye. Ediger announced on Twitter Sunday that she has verbally committed to the University of Iowa. Ediger averaged 20.5 points and 9.8 rebounds a game this winter, helping spark the Hawkeyes to a 25-1 record and the Division 2 state semifinals. She had a number of big games, including a 33-point performance in Hamilton’s loss to Freeland in the state semifinals. Ediger also scored 31 points in Hamilton’s win over South Christian in the quarterfinals. Ediger was an Associated Press Division 2 Second Team selection, and she was named to the Grand Rapids Press Dream Team Second Team.

Caitlin Clark | 6'0 Guard | WITH THE SAUCE
By PassThaBall, 06/09/19, 11:30AM PDT

Caitlin Clark is a tough guard to defend. Have to play tight defense on her because she can shoot from deep, crafty with the ball handling, knows how to create for herself and others. Can also get to the basket and finish tough shots with contact.

Midwest Girls Classic: Top Performers

Caitlin Clark — 5’11 PG — All Iowa Attack EYBL 2020 / Dowling Catholic HS (IA)
Playing in her last game in an All Iowa Attack uniform, Clark was dominant. This was the best I have seen her play and the performance was just like Kobe Bryant in his last game. Clark was able to do whatever she wanted and was scoring at an elite level. She was passing the ball really well and scored at all three levels. With her All Iowa Attack career done she now heads off to finish her summer with the USA U19 World Cup team.
