I've seen her play 6 or 7 games in person. Solid player but not always consistent. In most of her games Johnston would have 4 or 5 of the best players on the court.

Schools will need to tread lightly when it comes to compensating international students, even if they are paid for services in their home country. There seems to be a hair trigger when it comes to revoking student visas. Without getting too political, I’d rather be student in Iowa than California right now. I hate to bring up guyton and I wish her the best. But Elina looks like she's further along in development.
Is she ready to take the reigns and be a 30mpg starter will remain to be seen. All I know I'd be really happy if we got her.

Has Iowa talked to or approached any players at the forward position? At this point, I don't think they have, but it's not always available information. Maybe nothing looks like a fit, but starting to appear (with the window closing 4/23) they aren't looking to add to the front court.
A little surprising given the depth, but maybe they have a lot of faith in Mallegni's continued development. Would love to see her with a big jump over the summer, so I hope she goes after it.

Two thoughts- 1) transfer players want playing time. Leaving money aside, I think most transfer portal players would look at Iowa’s center and 4 position players and think playing time prospects are limited 2) I hope Elina A. being from a country like Finland, would see the slower pace of the Midwest, the college town environment of Iowa City and the Carver fan support she played against this past season as compelling reasons to come aboard the Hawkeye program! I would love to see wearing black and gold ( yellow, actually)

Is it assumed Aarnisalo has more ppg in her, given minutes and a good situation? Haven't really investigated beyond a few highlights. Just know Iowa needs a consistent scorer to join the team, so I'm hoping that is possible. Looks like she's further along than Guyton, so that's a plus! Hope the visit goes well.

Comment by poster was a whopping 4 words long: "Yet another transfer target". Could you get any more Ho-Hum than that? Only one follow-up reply mentions Elina. Compare that to probably several hundred comments on the three Iowa websites.
North Carolina WBB home page lists average attendance for the 24-25 season at 3290; Carmichael Arena where they play seats less than 7000...essentially the same size as Drake's Knapp Center. We all know how many people come to Carver for WBB.
I hope they have a way of letting Miss Aarnisalo know this; of course she's already seen Carver in person.

In 23 years of coaching Shauna Green has coached one guard, Andrea Hoover at Dayton, that played in the WNBA. She appeared in 12 games for the Sparks in 2015 and averaged 4 points in those games. On that slim record, it's hard to claim she's better than Jan.

Ya, I lived in the PNW, that's common in the Late fall to spring.
She was 8th on the team in field goal attempts per game, so I think so. This year, Iowa's top 4 scoring guards were: Olson: 18 ppg, Feuerbach 7 ppg, McCabe 7 ppg, Guyton 5 ppg. That's 37 ppg total.
Next year (assuming Aarnisalo joins) I could see something like: Deal: 12 ppg, Aarnisalo: 10 ppg, Feuerbach 8 ppg, McCabe: 7ppg. Same ppg, just a more even distribution.
Would Aarnisalo also be the presumptive pg starter at North Carolina, replacing Donarski?
I would think Reniya Kelly would be the PG but my knowledge of NC wbb is low. Lanie Grant would be the other option
