We are going to really need to ramp up immigration soon...

Oh, you're back.

I provided the context to both Bernie's declaration that he's a socialist (see this post) and the interview in which he expressed the opinion (see this post) that consumers have too many deodorant and shoe choices in light of child hunger.

Were you seeking another 'context'? Or can you finally bring yourself to share your opinion?

Lol. Context for the toothpaste statement you moran. That is the specific statement you asked me to address.

I also asked you to do more than look up a few quotes to maybe erode away at your ridiculously lazy, simplistic “understanding” of Bernie’s political history. Have you? I suspect not, given your insistence on focusing on a few excerpted quotes.

I'm saying I'm living that life right now and children should be more of a priority. For both people and for our government.

I'm living in a 900 square foot home that has 5 people in it. My wife stays at home with the kids mostly now due to COVID but previously because child care was too expensive. On top of that 2 of our children are autistic and require several therapy appointments a week (which we are mostly doing online). I'm supporting 5 people on just my wages alone. Plus a student loan debt when they start billing me for that again (It paused due to COVID)

The car I drive to work was manufactured in 1998.

If it was just the two of us we would be in a nicer and bigger home with much nicer cars and more stuff. But children were our priority. They should be for others.
I don't get the mindset that pushes my priorities onto others. Makes no sense to me that I should be telling you that your priorities are out of whack.

See the bolded text above, click the link to that post, and then you can clink to the link I already provided you to the interview in which he made the statement.

Hell, I'll save you the extra click:

Why the hell should they be a priority for others? Your situation sounds awful to me, for example.

For several reasons but on the macro scale I would say it's a responsibility to your country have and teach the next generation.

It's not so awful. Quite frankly I have a family that loves me, food in my belly and warm bed to sleep in at night. While there might be things that I want, that is all that I need.

So the rest of the 7 billion people on Earth should share your values and needs and adjust their lives accordingly?

A little hubristic of an approach there, no?

I'm not the one causing the problem of low birth rates.

There are certain responsibilities to society we should all have. One of those quite frankly should be for those who are able to do so to at the very least replace themselves.

Individualism is killing this country. It's why we have to fight with everyone to put on freaking mask or go get a vaccine. It's why we have low birth rates and high poverty.

I don't think that's hubristic it's just that I hate individualism as a political, social, and economic philosophy.

You see low birth rates in the US as a problem, I do not. Lower birth rates can be part of a solution to poverty. There are plenty of people, many of them want to be here. The issue is not with to few births, it's to few workers to do the jobs that Americans don't want to do. Adding babies is not going to fix that.

Your suggestion is full of self righteousness.
