We could form an all-star team from our past 10 seasons and still lose at OSU Saturday. Our D is strong, O is still a one trick pony.

I don't know what to think of your posts. Every post I can remember are negative hyperbole. Are you a bot? Not only trashing current Hawkeyes but now past Hawkeyes. I have a suspicion you are a very unhappy person.

Iowa’s offense has improved this season. The defense, while still good, has regressed a little.

It is highly likely Ohio State wins Saturday, but not guaranteed. The Hawks haven’t really beaten a top team in awhile (? Penn State in 2021, who finished unranked) and are due. Small chance of winning, but not zero.

They’ll put 9 in the box. Our one trick pony is gelded. Cade’s decision making good for at least one pick six. Probably not as bad and embarrassing as 2022, but close. OSU easily covers. That’s my overly optimistic take for a Sunday morning.
Well which is it? An all star team from the last 10 years or Cade at QB?

Definitely selecting Linderbaum over Daniels. Riley Reiff? Bulaga? Yanda? Were they last 10 years? Yanda wasn’t I guess because he played in NFL for 13 years I think.
Yeah I typed that out in 2 minutes. Spaced Linderbaum but thought Bulaga was passed the 10 year mark

A 10-year all-star team for Iowa would win the national championship. Easily. They would be better at than any other team in country at probably 4 of the 5 offensive line spots.

They would be better than any other team in the country at probably 3 of the 4 defensive line spots.

They would be better than any other team in the country at probably all 3 linebacker spots.

They'd be better than any other team in the country at almost every single special teams position.

They'd be better at TE than any other team in country. Secondary would probably be a tie with the best team or slightly disadvantage. Running back would be a tie or slight advantage.

WR is the only position where I think the best team in the country right now would still be significantly better than an all star team from our last 10 years. But it wouldn't matter. Teams would have to put 8 in the box to stop our running game and they've have to try and match up with our TE's. Our WR group would be good enough to get open sometimes with the single coverages they'd see.

QB-Beathard
RB-Wadley(puke), KJ
WR- Smith, Smith, ISM
TE- Hockenson, Fant, Kittle
LT- Alaric Jackson
LG- Scherff
C- James Daniels
RG-Blythe
RT Wirfs

I like our chances
And last years defense, they won ten games on their own. Justin Jacobs might be a good addition from the 2017 team.

Kaleb Johnson is getting over ten yards per carry versus stacked boxes according to a post on this forum.

Ohio State defense, currently ranked NCAA #2, is arguably the top overall defense in college football.

OSU’s DL is massive and talented; the OSU defense is allowing just 1.4 ypc so far this season. If Johnson or any other Iowa RB is able to run for 4.0 ypc the Hawkeyes will probably make this game competitive.

IMO the Iowa OL is outmatched at the LOS. My hope is that Lester gets creative and McNamara has a big day.

The O is much better. We won't have Deacon back there getting the ball stripped out of his hands and giving them the ball on the short field. 6 turnovers last game. I don't see that happening this game. Plus, their QB is no CJ Stroud.

Initial post is accurate.
Stacked box incoming.
The only modification is this year we at least (so far) have SOME Offense, a good I-Back.

Prediction: We try to play action/pass our way out of the stacked box early on with little success. We get a couple first downs but end up punting over and over again (maybe get a couple field goals if we're lucky). D keeps it close, we're down a couple scores at half and then get worn down 3rd quarter and end up losing by 30+. KF will say that's football and we move on.

Good. Stack the box every play. Leaves very little defensive help if a tight end gets open or KJ evades a tackle or two.

"...KJ evades a tackle or two"

-------------------THIS is problematic, through no fault of his own. Injuries take a toll. Sullivan must be ready AND utilized.

Not too far off
