Washington (CNN)Although ISIS is known for using social media for recruitment purposes, U.S. Air Force intelligence has been using it to track down Islamic State militants, according to Gen. Hawk Carlisle, commander of Air Combat Command.

"These guys that are working down at Hurlburt (Florida), they're combing through social media. And they see some moron standing at this command and control capability for Da'Esh, ISIL. These guys go, 'ah we got an in,'" Carlisle said at a speech in Arlington, Virginia, on Monday.

Twenty-two hours after seeing the post, U.S. warplanes went in for the kill.

I read this story earlier. It makes you wonder if the airstrikes are having a positive effect. Leaving less experienced people in ISIS to make these mistakes, or if it's a result of having an organization without professional training?

I questioned that. I don't know if it was a brag, or an attempt to plant into ISIS members heads the thought that every keystroke could bring a JDAM into their front door.

Good example of how asymmetrical warfare works FOR us.

If ISIS had the weapons, Hurlburt Florida would be toast. But they don't.

If the weaponry were more equal, would CNN be shut down for revealing the location of a valuable asset like that?

How much better would ISIS (or the foe du jour) have to be before we cut deeper into our 1st, 4th 5th, 6th and 8th amendment rights?
