In all the post game stuff that I have read or heard...the focus has been on how "Great" the badger rushing attack was. Now, lets be clear...they ran the ball effectively for sure. But, here is the thing....the Hawks top two backs averaged more yards per carry in that game than Taylor did!!! In fact, the only time they were able to stop our rushing attack was when we went to the edges. When we went in the middle we were getting 5-6 yards a pop. I kept screaming at my tv when we were up in the 4th to simply let Young and Offensive line tee off....it never happened. THAT is another major reason we lost this game.

We will not make that same mistake this year I hope.

GO HAWKS!!!

I'm not disagreeing with you at all, but it's funny to read because all anyone ever bitches about is that we need to throw the ball more. I agree though I thought our line was pretty much having there way with Wisky.

I agree. But, no matter how many yards the Hawks put up, or how many points they score, play-calling is going to take some hits on this board.

Our coaches got too “cute” with their play calling. Fans all around us were laughing that we were trying to pass the ball and run outside. If fans can recognize it, then the coaches should.

The Hawks gained 400 yards against a very tough defense. BF was not getting "cute", he was trying to keep the Badgers off-balance by mixing-up the plays - something Iowa fans have been begging for.

"Trying" to pass the ball? 14-23 for 256, 2 TD's and 1 Int. 61% completion rate, and an 18 yd/completion average? Seems to me like they were pretty successful.

I get that, but if you watched the BYU game that is what they did to Wisky and it worked, the coaches obviously saw something on tape that made them think they could be successful doing it. Wisky was loading the box so I imagine that is why they were throwing the ball. It's pretty easy to sit back and second guess play calling after the fact, if Nate and Hock hook up on the long pass he was wide open people would have been going nuts about what a great play call it was.
