and both times it was very successful.

Actually, there was a 3rd attempt at a screen to the far side of the field, but a defensive blitz forced Nate to throw it too early and it fell incomplete.

My point is that pass plays to the RB can be an answer to keeping drives alive and Stanley should check into it more when the defense is stacking the box.

Oh - one more captain obvious thought - Good things happen when we throw to our TEs. They need more targets. I think it was 14-7 before Fant was even targeted.

Actually IIRC the RBs had 6 targets yesterday, with just 2 completions.

The passes to IKM were successful and perfectly timed based on what Iowa knew it was getting on those third-down plays. In both cases IKM went right by the blitzing linebacker and was wide open.

Whatever Iowa did in the passing game yesterday, keep doing. I have no problem that it was 14-7 before Fant was targeted. That came after Iowa scored on its first 2 possessions by throwing to WR and RB. I don't care about who is getting receptions or touches, I care about moving the ball and scoring. Hockenson and Fant ended up with 7 catches. Smith, ISM and Easley had 14 catches. Great distribution of the ball yesterday.

tOSU was very successful throwing to their backs out of the backfield vs Indiana so hope to see screens and wheel routes from Iowa next Saturday.
