Auburn plane returned back home Friday, Nov 8, due to horseplay between players on the flight that could have escalated into a fight, a source told The Field Of 68.

Auburn was about 45 minutes enroute and had to return home. Source said they are expected to take another plane to Houston later Friday night, Nov 8.

Auburn plays Houston Saturday night, Nov 9.

Sources: Auburn scuffle forces team flight to turn back​

The Auburn men's basketball team's flight to Houston had to be grounded shortly after takeoff Friday because of a scuffle involving two Tigers players, sources confirmed to ESPN.

The incident was over before it escalated into anything serious, sources said, but the flight's personnel opted to turn the plane around.

The Auburn team's replacement flight took off for Houston late Friday night, sources told ESPN.

University officials did not respond to a request for comment.

The No. 11 Tigers face No. 4 Houston (9:30 p.m. ET, ESPNU) on Saturday.

Auburn opened its season with a 94-43 win over Vermont, highlighted by 21 points off the bench from Georgia Tech transfer Miles Kelly.

The news was first reported by Field of 68.

This is a really good, one minute video. It includes the pilot talking to air traffic control.

“We had two players that got into a physical altercation, clothes were ripped,” the pilot was heard saying to air traffic controllers. The fight was broken up before it became anything serious. The pilot told air traffic controllers that police were called.

What type of charges can one face when doing something like this where the plane has to quickly land?

Not sure if they called it an "emergency landing."
