I wonder what happens when you take out the auto tune
Agree but doesn't matter really... I wonder how many current popular singers use it.
Robert Plant and Freddie Mercury are the only singers that are clearly better. Elvis Presley also if you count him.
Probably sounds like that shitty singer Bruno Mars.
Agreed, I like Perry and Journey, but that song blows.
You'd think after 20 years or so away, you could come up with something better than that.
He's no Arnel Pineda, that's for sure.
But seriously, Perry left Journey because his voice was shot. With the advent of AutoTune, his career may find a resurgence. Pineda does a pretty good job filling in, but his voice isn't as full as Perry's at his best.

Not sure if serious, but Bruno Mars is an incredible talent. I don’t put him in the same genre as a rock singer like Steve Perry, but as far as pop/r&b singers he is just below the greats like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. He and Lady Gaga are the most talented people in music right now IMO.
Depends if a bunch of douches are all singing "Don't stop believing" at the top of their lungs in said bar. If so, hard pass

Saw Journey on tour last summer with their new singer. He’s not Steve Perry but he is very good. Definitely worth going if you are a Journey fan.
