My furloughed status has been extended through at least the rest of this year, and I’ll be losing my health insurance at the end of August. Covid has essentially left me unemployed. My company has went from about 150-175 employees, to about 10. Maybe less.

Time to get the ol resume updated I think .....for the first time in almost a decade. Covid can suck my balls. Anyways, I’m going to drink some beers this afternoon/csb.

Porn industry is really shutting down, huh? Damn it.

Seriously though, what is your line of work? If relocation is an option, I know lots of people here in KC in different industries. You will just have to stay away from my wife you ole dog.

Best of luck McLovin, 2020 truly sucks! Hope the best for you!

I am sorry to hear that and I wish you the very best going forward. I know many people who have had to face a similar tough situation and then were able to turn lemons into lemonade. I hope that is true for you in this case.

I don't think you need to worry about your wife. McLovin is strictly committed to OP's Mom.

Sorry to hear about your situation ,btw, OP.

I'm sorry to hear that! As someone who's been laid off like 6 times, it always sucks.

What's your background? What kind of position are you looking for? Maybe someone here knows of something out there.

@McLovin32

really sorry to hear about your job status.

where do you live and what jobs are you willing to apply for? Will you be looking more for health insurance in a job or salary? I know both is ideal.
I live in the ol Crapids. As an unmarried guy that doesn’t go to the doctor often, salary is far more important to me than anything else. I wore a lot of hats at my last job, started at an entry level position and got promoted 4 times in about 9 years. The entry level position could probably be summed up as a “Logistics” specialist type thing.

Strangely enough, about 2 nights ago my girlfriend’s (no pics) friend (no pics) sent me a link to the company that her cousin (not sure what she looks like, so no pic) works for, which is based out of SF and told me I should apply. So I think I’m going to do that as soon as I get my resume updated. The position would pay about 30% more than I was making at my old job, I’d have someone put in a good word for me, and I’d be able to stay in Iowa because it’s a remote position. So we’ll see how things go from here.

Would you consider the QCA? My new company also does logistics and is hiring. They pay well and have excellent benefits.

A remote job with more pay. Sounds effing terrible.

Good luck.

I think you can get on what is left of Obamacare if you have a life situation change.
