Well here we go....

"In approximately six hours, we should have an idea of what kind of season it is going to be. Go Hawks"

You cannot make conclusions about what type of season the Hawkeyes will have (or any other team for that matter) based on what happened in the opening game. An Iowa blowout win does not mean a hugely successful season or vice-versa.

Of course, if Iowa does get a convincing win over the Redbirds, I expect that you will be back to caution posters to cool their jets since you have practically guaranteed that Iowa would lose one of their first two games.

IF Iowa were to blow out Illinois State then of course the pessimist in me would be cautious moving forward, but I would be really optimistic about an 8-9 win season.

I'll be the first to admit that I was wrong. I thought Illinois State would win. Now with that being said, I hope our OL continues to grow. I am optimistic after this game that Iowa can get the ground game going better this year. Daniels/Canzeri are much better options than Weisman. I loved the heart Weisman would show, but he shouldn't have been running the stretch play.

well that's something...... at least your prediction for today's game was pretty damn close.

Yeah, but why would the coaches continue to call the stretch with him in the first place? There's plenty of other ways to use him in the run game, even if you want to get him outside than having your whole damn offensive line run down the line in front of your RB/FB, especially when the holes aren't there.
