Well, it's official for Cook, between us and Florida.

Did he visit Florida already? If so, we might get a decision SOON.

If he still has to visit there, we could be waiting a while, and I don't like the fact that they get to have the last impression.

If it helps any, the "Crystal Ball" is up to 100% Iowa. Cook said after the Florida visit that Florida was going to get an in home. There is nothing to really get to concerned with that we didn't have to be concerned with yesterday.

I'm not going to short arm this based on footsteps. I believe Tyler is coming to Iowa.

I think the X factor is how close his wants to be to his family so they can see him play. Seems like they're a pretty tight family so hopefully they'll want him to stay close by.

Our visit is on Tyler's birthday, his older brother wasn't able to make to IC Saturday as they had planned so he'll be there for the in home. They canceled the Arkansas visit right after Iowa trip.... I think reading between the lines....

I'm thinking it'll be a birthday PARTY!!!

I like the way you read.

We are very due for one of these to go our way. What an impact this kid could make at Iowa. For us, two four stars in one season is a rare thing.

Speaking of going through recruiting droughts. Think about this. According to the Missouri board they haven't signed a top 100 player in their own state since 2004.

"Not since Kalen Grimes committed in 2004 has Missouri landed a top 100 Four or Five star player from inside the borders. There has obviously been some turmoil over the years, but Mizzou's track record with in-state talent, particularly from the St. Louis area certainly is an issue.", from a not a Rivals site so no link.

And, as to Tyler, his last tweet, "Oh, the Hate". Followed by a laughy face. But I have to suspect he got some unhappy tweets from Missou and Arkansas fans. Whatever happens, I'm grateful the Cook family has given Iowa such a strong and solid look. No doubt their consideration has been sincere. I THINK Tyler will be a Hawkeye. But if he does pick Florida, best wishes.

The Iowa program will continue to move forward. No hate from this Iowa fan. But, much appreciation if Tyler chooses to be the guy to break the ice.

Reading between the lines,

Looks like the stars are aligned ,

Interpreting the tea leaves,

It all looks good........ but

I will not get too excited until he says Iowa!

People who go after HS/college kids on twitter are the lowest of the low. I think Cook comes here, but if he doesn't, there will certainly be a segment of Hawk fans embarrassing the fan base; just how it is now. Pretty uncalled for in any case because Cook has played his recruitment about as calmly as you can this day in age.

Watch - he will end up at Florida just so he can come back home and take it out on all the hecklers and haters in Missouri.

.....or not. Like another poster mentioned, Fran is due to win one of these in order to rebalance the cosmic scales of basketball justice.

This. They could drive to every home game he plays...

I think the Lord is working hard on the family...they will make the "correct" decision...

He knows how much the Iowa fans have been suffering in the recruiting wilderness, recently...

You never know what will happen with recruiting. The only reason I can see Florida is that he seems to have been high on them for a long time. The one thing that makes me think Iowa is that he is ready to make a decision so soon after he visited. He is the kind of kid Iowa needs to keep getting if they want to keep going to the NCAA tourney.

Im a little worried Florida must seriously be in play or he would have committed already. Guess we should soon see.

Obviously we do not know what he will do, but if he does not come to Iowa, please, please do not tweet at him!

A Florida writer put it this way. Florida is slated to visit on Thursday. I found that word interesting. Slates can be wiped clean. They hardly indicate anything permanent. The writer then went on to mention that Cook canceled the Arkansas visit.

If Tyler wanted to commit on his birthday, with Iowa Coaches and the family all having a good time, he'd have to have someone else still listed as a choice. Otherwise, it would be a rather odd announcement. "I'm committing to the only team I have left on my list, Iowa, surprise...everybody!"

I'm hoping, the Florida coaches know already not to pack their bags.

+1FS, and DanL what you're saying really makes sense and we're all hoping you are right. If he indeed commits or even if he doesn't it's good to be a hawk fan right now, fb is doing great and bb hasn't looked so promising in a long time.

Hope this isn't another close miss.
Need to get a player like this to "prime the pump" for top 100 kids coming to Iowa.

I think it's Iowa and I sure as hell hope it's Iowa, but the only reason I could see it being Florida so soon after the Iowa visit is (and I think it's a reach) he saw Iowa put on the best show imaginable and he still felt like it was Florida so why bother with any more visits. Don't think that's the case, but who knows.

IMO, here's the most interesting excerpt from that article IaHawk44...

Bassett has been picking up several big offers as of late including one from the Arkansas Razorbacks, but he says the Florida Gators basketball offer was a big one to him.
