Coach Fry recruited Jerry Levias to SMU and broke the color barrier in the old Southwest Conference. Eventually, Hayden made it to Iowa and built a nationally respected program that has never been the subject of racist charges. I'm glad Hayden isn't around to see what's going down in Iowa City right now.

Miller made that site what it was with his podcasts and it has not the same appeal. Honestly, in this climate, I don't see how it's possible for a white coach to succeed. Obviously, a huge percentage of the team will be black. A coach has to be tough and instill some form of discipline in order to be successful. How on earth does a white coach do that with black players without running the risk of being perceived as a racist, or culturally insensitive, or tone deaf, or whatever. I just don't see how a white guy can navigate that minefield for very long.

Agree 100%. KF is a class individual who treats all the same. If the culture he instills in Iowa Football is hard work, basics, go by the rules, etc I am all in on that. Doyle has crossed the line unfortunately. He helped many Hawkeyes get to the pros but if he has indeed said the things others are saying he will go.
If we are going towards a society where programs, corporations, small biz owners, etc can’t have one set of guidelines for all within their ranks then we have an incredible mess on our hands.

This for the most part. I think Kirk would be ok with Doyle going. But if he was asked to get rid of Brian, I think Kirk would resign.
