If this was truly a concern, then there should have been an earlier mail in deadline established. Also, Trump should have been working to ensure ballets were expedited by the USPS as opposed to trying to slow down the USPS.

Democrats and Republicans can print all they want. They just need to be completed and mailed prior to the deadline. Also, if the concern is that there will be ballets submitted illegally, then the delay may be needed to ensure that they are reviewed and processed properly as opposed to being rushed through the system.

Then the USPS should be given the resources to ensure all ballots are delivered by Election Day. We the people can only control when the ballots are mailed. If a ballot is mailed by the specified date but does not arrive in time,should it not count?
I am surprised that the postmarked date for mail in ballots is not earlier, at least a week prior to Election Day. I would have thought that Trump would have addressed this, instead of meddling with the USPS. That is what happens when you have someone who is easily distracted by shiny objects in charge.

Election laws are controlled by each state. In Iowa an absentee ballot must be postmarked by the day before the election or delivered to the commissioner of elections by election day. If postmarked by November 2, the ballot must be received by noon of the Monday following the election.
