This'll be interesting. In ordinary contexts, this would seem like a pretty clear violation of first amendment rights of association (both as to an operational shutdown and in the context of selective funding). But hard to imagine an aggrieved cadet(s) bringing a lawsuit, and even if they did, they might plausibly lose given the military context. But I don't think so.

Hegseth is ending the woke. He wants the military to return to white Christian men with white Christian nationalist tattoos, and nobody else. The modern US military needs women and minorities no matter how mightily the GQP rails against them.

To that end, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Jan. 29 directed the establishment of the “Restoring America’s Fighting Force” task force to promote “merit-based, color-blind policies” throughout the U.S. military.
