Both teams had the upper hand multiple times in the final minutes of each period. Tough to blame anyone after Jok and Watson both got yanked. Webster was the difference, but only barely.

Remember this is just the beginning for this group and enjoy seeing Peter in all his glory. You'd think he'd get more calls as a senior star, but I won't ever complain about less refereeing.

Bottom line is we were an underdog and still almost stole it. It's all part of the process.

It was a good game, but I just wonder who Fran can't use his Time outs in crunch situations. How can you not call one just to set something up. You have a 2-3 freshman on the floor at any given time. COACH THEM UP during the game. Don't just teach them lessons in film study.

Our end of game and first OT were horrible. Fran had TO's to use and he just sits on them. That's what upsets me the most.

The players I thought fought hard. Jok, Baer, Moss, Pemsl, Cook, and others played hard. They gave it there all and were exhausted at the end. I will say this Iowa's defense (1 on 1) is not good and I knew that. But damn watson was on fire and no one could stop him. But when nebbie needed to shut down Jok on critical possession they were able to. Why can't Iowa do that?

I have to Lol at people poking at Jok in the game thread.

Eh I always need to sleep on it. The board is always too high or too low after games.

Was a great game though.
I can't take anything away from Nebby. They played their guts out like we did. For me, it had a Sherlock Holmes flavor: 34 from "Jok Watson."

I thought the Hawks did better at rebounding. Need to work on valuing the rock.

Eh, I was mad at Jok with the last decision but he played a fantastic game overall. I'm not upset with Fran either.

A good game, I'm just upset we lost.

That's a fair statement. Baer didn't score much but he had a ton of rebounds.

There were several TO's that should have been called, but not by McCaffery. Pemsl got tied up down on the baseline and instead of calling a TO, tossed a prayer out to the backcourt, which we lost, and Bohannon got tied up on the wing and had the ball taken away from him. They players have to call the TO's when the ball is live, not the coach. This should of been and I assume was, discussed in the last TO huddle.

But, damn!, what a wild game. Gotta hand it to both teams!

I think all of us B1G teams need to start a GoFundMe to get Glynn Watson as far away from our conference as possible.

It's rare that you see Iowa get beat 10-0 in fast break points. Too many easy buckets from sloppy play. 16 free throws in 2 overtimes due to tired legs. I liked Watson when we played them last year, but holy cow has he grown up.

I'm happy to see Moss take responsibility as a focal point of the offense without Cook or
Jok on the floor in the first half. Disappointing drive at the end, but hopefully he can learn from that.

The foul on Moss at the end of regulation was ticky tack and should have never been called at that time. Bailed them out completely.

If the senior leader of a team can't play good defense the team won't do well.. plus fran should know every team is going to focus on jok at the end and draw up a play for jbo or Moss

NU fan. What a damn game. It really can't get better, Bohannan from Linn Mar fun to watch, I am longtime tkt holder for NU but wiining this game over Iowa is just a big win. What a game you guys brought. Good fortunes this season Hawks.

Very entertaining.

Iowa with offensive explosions from Moss in the first half to keep them in it, then Jok going off in the second half. I hear the announcers say at one point in the second half that PJ had 16 in a row for Iowa!
Baer was all over the place with key defensive plays and rebounds.
Poor perimeter defense and too many turnovers. How many steals did nebby have?
Up and down, exciting ball to watch.
Wins may be lacking, but at least losses like this can keep the interest up.
