I remember the late night welcome back in the fieldhouse to the men's BB team when they made the final 4 in 1979. Fun times.

pretty sure they flew to CR and then took the bus to Iowa City
And the freshly crowned national championship wrestling team on the same night. That experience in that old echo chamber called the Field House caused me to redefine "loud". It was more a case of vibrating rather than hearing.
would have been nice to have something when all the kids weren't in school. i realize they weren't going to postpone their bus ride obviously, but still.
That's what made that even more impressive. Just think how big the crowd would have been if people had the day off.
