Agree I like Ben Stiller a lot better then Will Farrell.
Meet the Parents series wasn't bad.

I would argue that he was a supporting character in Heavyweights and it was more than a cameo. After all, he was the antagonist.
Yeah I guess you're correct only funny thing in a terrible movie. I'd go with Dodge Ball. That character and movie would have been horrible without him completely committed.

There's Something About Mary is a classic film, period. IFC is showing it with all the deleted scenes as well. It's the best film for virtually every major star in the film.
Meet The Parents was awesome. They should have stopped there, however.
Flirting With Disaster is a very underrated film. It has tons of subtle, bent humor.

I was going to post this when I read OP and you beat me by quite a few hours. Definitely not a cameo.
Odd thing is, it was basically the same character from Heavyweights. Most of his characters are neurotic, it's just a matter of the direction and severity of the neurosis. Those had the same direction and severity.
I like Ferrell more, but this thread reminded me of how many Ben Stiller movies I enjoy. I think people have an easy time hating Will Ferrell. My dad absolutely hated him on SNL. Reluctantly came around after he saw some of the movies. Anchorman probably doesn't hold up well (I'd have to rewatch), but at the time it was hilarious. Old School would hold up, I think, if Animal House holds up. Love Step Brothers. Talladega had some chuckles. I think Tropic Thunder was better than any Will Ferrell movie I remember, but I still think I like Will Ferrell more.
Was wondering if The Heartbreak Kid would get mentioned. Top 5 favorite comedy for me
