In my experience the guys that talk the most are never the toughest. The TRUE top dogs just handle their business and let their performance speak for itself.

Absolutely LOVE Gilman!! Guys need to look back at the history of some of our other wrestlers. He might be a bit of a bully at times but he's not the 1st or last one we have or had. It's funny as Hell that people get pissed over something that Rodriguez said so he responded!

No problem with this shit if he backs it up, although it's not the way I would want my athlete to take care of business. However, when you act like a douche, you open yourself up to a lot of criticism when you screw up. And if gilmans past history is any indicator, he is bound to make a boneheaded decision and put himself in a bad spot somewhere down the line

But must be difficult for you waking up every day wondering if you're a Husker fan or a Gopher fan that day, then you have these "awful" issues wondering if you should root for Suriano or Gilman. Gilman responded to what Rodriquez said to him during the weigh in. A comment made an answer returned. No yelling no tantrum just an answer. No one on here puts in the work Gilman does and then backs up. IMO he has the right to return his opponents comment.
You don't know what was said during the weigh in and you really don't know what happened after the match. Who is calling people names without knowing the facts. Think answering another persons remark made to you should not lead to others then calling you names. Who is the douche here?

Gilman imposes mental and physical toughness on his opponents. People in this world are sensitive and don't like it when their athlete is mistreated with words. Wrestling is imposing your will on the other person weather it be mentally or physically. I'll take Gilman's attitude any day. He wins!
It's fair for one to admire Gilman's enormous wrestling talent, while disliking the extracurricular, WWE garbage.

You are right. It also happened when Flo wanted to blame TG for post match pushing when the whole tape revealed he didn't start the kerfuffle in question.
I would of paid to watch both of them altercations before ever giving a penny to pay per view to watch UFC and the puke Dana White. Gilman should of been on the old school Gable teams when they used to come into the Field House (not the sports venue) and let it fly.
Have to agree...Gilman is a man out of time. Nobody likes somebody who is 100% in on their belief system these days, damn the torpedoes. Gilman may not walk away with a title this year, but he will be able to walk away on his own terms having given it his all.
Gilman tech filled the OSU wrestler. He wrestled a great match. End of story. The results are the only thing us fans should be concerned about. The problem with this country is everyone thinks they should have a say in how athletes act. You don't. Period. Let's talk about how unstoppable his outside single is instead of a few words after the match that were more than likely provoked by a kid who has no business even talking to Gilman let alone being on the same mat as him. Barring something unusual Gilman is our only shot for an individual national champ this year so I'm right behind him as the rest of the Hawks. Go Gman!

Yea...if Gunther says something after getting dominated, then he would deserve IMar's wrath. Thing was, Gilman gave Rodriguez a professional beat down...no face mushing, no pushing out of bounds, no talking...just clinical and another day at the office. Gets up and was headed towards the middle but than just decided to run his mouth...Yea...that's the ticket. Gilman's an asshole...Ignore the fact that we couldn't see Rodriguez's face and if he said anything.
I really get more distressed with some people running their mouths here and what they say...........
Rather than any of the wrestlers and what they may or may not say. It's their time. They are the ones out there training hard every day and making all the sacrifices they have to go through to get to this level.
What right do any of us have to criticize them when we have no idea of any of the circumstances leading up to a few words being shared among fellow warriors. It's their time and we are just outsiders looking in.
Two years ago IMAR about ripped the Minnesota backup's arms off and then proceeded to call out Ness from the center circle. Ness had "the flu" that day.
I might get "the flu" if I had to wrestle Imar as well.
Wow reading this seems like Gilman stirs up a lot of hate, did he commit rape or some other felony doesn't appear so it seems he isn't sensitive enough. This is wrestling right and not the game that is played with racquets and they hit the ball back and forth. As I recall wrestling is an intense contact/combat sport. These are tough guys and think they can handle the occasional face mush.
