What do these Republican senators have in common?

Kelly Ayotte, Mark Kirk, Ron Johnson, Susan Collins, and Pat Toomey all voted against a budget reconciliation measure that would defund Planned Parenthood. Why did they do this? They are all up for re-election in 2016 in moderate or blue states.

If Trump is the Republican nominee there will be a lot of people running for office who will be hesitant to share a stage with Trump.

I would wager the Senators listed in the original post will not share a stage during the election with the Republican nominee, no matter who it is. They are running from the Republican nominees and their positions as fast as they can.
