I'm curious about what a successful game by the Hawkeyes today looks like to the posters on this board. In other words, is it just win no matter how good or bad Iowa plays? Is it quality play whether Iowa wins or loses? Something else? Specific aspects of the game, like offensive line play or pass defense? Specific players like Hankins or Bower or Wirfs or ISM? I'm just curious.
I don't know what to expect, but I'm looking for passion across the board, competency in special teams, self-confidence in the young guys, tempo on offense (mixing it up throughout the game, being less predictable), eliminating drops on catchable passes, offensive line playing better against blitzes and pressure, play calling that punishes Nebraska when they put 9 or 10 in the box, Iowa mixing up pass defense to confuse the Huskers (including blitzing at times, especially at times when Nebraska least expects it--which for Iowa would mean almost any time in the game), and more, really, but that gives you a sense of what I'm looking for. To me, those are more important than winning the game and yet doing those things well should win the game, possibly even by blowout unless Nebraska really steps up their play, too.
So what are you looking for or hoping for today? By the way, I'm presenting this as a way to get away from the Fire Ferentz v. Keep Ferentz debate. At least this is related to the specifics of the game today. Cheers.
