I saw a report over the weekend (might have been on the Athletic), that had the top DL ranked for the draft this week. Apparently, this is one of the worst DL classes in a very long time for the NFL draft, and I was shocked to see that Daviyon came in ranked 9th of the entire DT group. His write up mentioned that a few NFL teams had taken him off of their draft board because of off-field issues and four other teams had major concerns about him. Sounds like he might not even fall in the first 3 rounds this weekend now, unless if there is one team that really likes him.
What gives here? I knew that he had fallen out of 1st round projections, but had no idea that he was apparently free falling down the board. Can someone shed some light on these "off the field" issues?
Is this a situation where Daviyon would have been better served coming back for another year at Iowa to prove himself even more?
