Iowa lost 2 players that probably would have been starters next year. Is the portal a good or a bad thing? IMO it's a good thing if you are a Power 6 team. The reduction to 13 scholarships made it difficult for some Top 25 teams to maintain that status year after year. You make a few recruiting mistakes, and have some key injuries, and it's wait until next year. Now under recruited players, and those under utilized can transfer without sitting. IMO that makes it that much easier to reload for Top 25 programs. If you are a Steph Curry you move to the level you should have been recruited to in the first place. This gives top programs more ability to maintain good talent 1 through 13. I really think this benefits B1G teams like Iowa.

Right now things look a little bleak for Iowa as an NCAA team next year. The optimistic me thinks that just might change with 1 to 2 additions.

I just caught the HR Podcast, and was saddened to hear the news about CJ leaving. The Transfer Portal has to be the main focus to get a guard or two or another big. No panic, but I will just dial back expectations a bit. We have a good core in Connor, Keegan, Joe T. Tony, Patrick, Ahron, Josh, and Kris.
