I am far less concerned about Iowa as a defensive team next year. Weezy, if gone (more than likely), was the best defender of the 4 leaving, AINEC. The sum of the players who will take the floor next year have the potential to be much better defenders, especially m2m. Scoring may be an issue but I think with the speed and length Iowa will have, this team will score. Not jacking up 3s, but opponents had better be getting back on defense because Iowa is going to run their socks off.

Until all the other teammates and their parents buy in that Fran's sons are going to get the bulk of the minutes played over equally or more talented players there is going to be a division . Sad part is this could go on for years with another son coming to Iowa in a few years

Next year will really tell us what type of coaching we have. It will require a very different offensive and defensive scheme. The whole thing gets blown up.

If Fran can get a couple capable guys in the portal, I think Iowa will be middle of the pack in the big ten. If you look at the 247 sports portal, you will see that Iowa is not the only team in the big ten to basically be in a rebuild mode. Iowa probably has more guys coming back than other teams---it's just that most haven't seen much PT. This trend is unfolding across the country, so parody will likely be off the charts.
Getting a scoring guard and / or a JW return should put Iowa close to Wisconsin this year who made the tournament. Iowa doesn't need to score in the 80's if they play better D.

I'd bet they are on the bubble too. Probably more likely NIT, but a chance at the Tourney.
And I'd go the opposite of whoever said low scoring. I'd bet they play faster next year than this, nearly as high scoring, but less efficient.

Iowa didn't fare well against any of the high level teams they faced. Gonzaga, Illinois, Michigan, Oregon.
Because they didn't have enough defense.
The D can have a MUCH higher ceiling if Jbo and Connor pursue other interests.
If only we could clone CMAC and play 5 of him at one time. Imagine the assist to TO ratio.
Lol. The only bugaboo in that scenario is someone has to actually put the ball through the hoop in order for an assist to occur.
