What makes the difference? What seals the deal?

In recruiting what sways a recruit to one team over another, if everything is pretty much equal?

For instance, let's look at the Raney's and say it is fairly even between Iowa, Illinois and Okie State. At this time, what can Iowa do to separate themselves from OSU & IL?

1. Keep wining and building momentum in the program (NCAA champs)
2. Relationship w/ coach or coaches? Relationship with Athletes? Spencer & Bo do a camp in Kentucky??
3. More NIL $$
4. Build RTC?
5. Get more recruits committed (Mocco)

Anything else I am missing? I guess I am wondering if it all comes down to NIL? And yes I know each recruit will be different. I wonder what tipped the scales for Bo?

understand that this very naive of me with most of today’s athletes but there is the forgotten aspect of a good education…what does the athlete want to study…..assuming he does.

I honestly think it was always Iowa for Bo. There has been plenty of evidence to support this - like his goals sheet that was released from several years ago that had IOWA on it.

Bo played the game the right way. He enjoyed his recruiting process and made sure Iowa made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

the Raney's on the other hand haven't really tipped their hand one way or the other. its always been said its between Iowa and Illinois. But now OKST is in on it and Cael was reported to have visited - wouldn't;t be the first time Cael got a recruit by jumping in late.

UH WRONG!!! He has already stated the very obvious, and that is. He is not a QB, and the money is nowhere near that level! He also said ALL offers were similar as far as the $$$$$!!!

I don't doubt that Iowa offered the most NIL (not by as much being reported).

I think Bo and his family knew how to make Iowa sweat and get the best offer.

I am also certain that TnT had to sell the parents on the program and moving away from home etc.

I'm gonna go out on a limb on this thread, kids recognize authentic coaches. I don't get an authentic vibe from Brands. What I mean by that is Tom and Terry believed in coach Gable, because coach Gable believed in his kids. Tom and Terry have yet to discover their authentic selves, which may be a coach who is invested in the individual wrestler. Tom and Terry were the total dominating package, they drew upon coach Gables energy. It was fun to watch that dominating aggressive style. They were wrestling 7 plus minutes. They were take down machines. There was no hanging out, waiting for a last minute shot and hope for the best.

Is Gable back on the international scene? Spencer took 2nd at the last worlds and Gable didn’t enter. One is based in fact and one is just speculation. Spencer is currently USA’s best wrestler.

I think Gable is just wrestling collegiate for the paycheck.
