Saw Porter Jr (overall #1 ranked kid in 2017) is going to Washington. Wasn't his mom a Hawkeye? Anyways, scrolled down a bit and the #6 player in the country is going to... Western Kentucky!?

And his Godfather coaches Washington where his brother also plays.
That's how his godfather got his job. Michigan will fall in line shortly. Ohio St. women's team did this two years ago.Probably made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
Recruiting now a days is a little different than when I was in school. Do the top 5 players even stay more than 2 years in College anymore?
Washington has a very nice recruiting class coming in, I believe Jontay Porter might reclassify as well and commit to Wash in the next couple weeks. Which would be huge! Yes the father is on staff, but PAC 12 ball is rising quickly. California, Utah, Arizona, &a Oregon have some extremely good talent in state.

Washington can point to having a current NBA all-star: Isaiah Thomas. This is what is so confusing about recruiting. I mean LSU pulled in the #1 player a few years back (well ended up dad or uncle coached there). Now I believe dad or uncle are no longer on staff.
This kid is going to Washington (who is having a rough year). Makes zero sense, except that a family member got offered a coaching job strictly for landing the kid. I also believe the kid is from the NW, but why Washington?

Becker?Mom is from CR and played at Iowa. They lived in Missouri and dad was hired as a womens assistant while an older sister played there. Now, godfather at Washington hired dad there so the family moved out there where it they will play. As soon as both are done dad will move on to something else or just watch his boys in the NBA.

That practice is troubling. But how do you regulate it?My point was more towards to the fact these schools are allowed to hire a coach, get a recruit and then fire them 2-3 years later when the recruit leaves.
Its basically giving the family $$$ for their child to come to that school.
Back to this, what is the tie to Western Kentucky??
