What was the +/- for Bohannon tonight

JBO + CMAC combined: 38 min, 0-3, 1 rebound, 1 assist.

They didn't do anything to lose the game, but they didn't do much positive either. I don'tthink was a good matchup for JBO and at least Fran recognized it and cut his minutes down.

CMAC at the 3 doesn't work so great without his Hot Left shooting hand...Sandort really stepped up, but didn't get a lot of minutes in 2nd half.

Not good im guessing.

This is the problem with going so heavily with Jbo.

There are matchups he can't do well in on either end.

Need to keep Toussaint getting regular minutes so he's ready when he needs to play more minutes against athletic teams.

Yeah, Connor hasn't really had any good looks the last two games now that teams are aware hes been hitting.

That’s actually a fine thing. They’re out guarding him closely. He doesn’t force shots and he looks to pass first. They didn’t sag off Connor to help other places and that’s part of the reason why Iowa got a lot of good looks down low. The Hawks did a lot of things really well last night, they just didn’t execute enough around the rim or at the FT line.….and even with all that, they had a good look for a 3 as time was about to expire that would have won the game.

Yeah, I've made that point for years.

Usually he brings more in terms of rebounding, defense, and assists than last night.

I probably would have liked to see a little more Sandfort if anything.

So I find this funny. In 38 minutes they got zero points, 1 rebound and 1 assist. And we have people on here blaming the Murray’s and Perkins for missing free throws. Sure thing. You take the Murray’s off this team we are Nebraska. If you’re not producing anything on the court you are not helping your team win. Both have played well recently. Last night was not their night.

Its really not about blame. Kris and Perk played great otherwise. Referencing some horrible free throw shooting is just stating an obvious statistical anomaly that factored into the result. A lack of any production whatsoever from 2 starters in Cmac and Jbo, 4 of 14 FT shooting from Kris and Perk, and a lot of questionable calls or non-calls by the officials all factored into a really disappointing 2 point loss. I like the Hawks chances to take them down later this week.

I was just reporting what they were. I am on the fence about the actual usefulness of +/-.
It means more over a larger sample size as players have the opportunity to play in a wider variety of rotations and more minutes as a whole. If you look at Iowa’s team BPM (box plus minus) stats, they are pretty well reflective of who our top contributors have been this season

Correct. I get all of that and do find value in looking at the season stats. I don't think that having a single game in the - means you played terrible and vice versa. That's all I was trying to say.

He doesn't get looks because he creates nothing on his own and depends on being left wide open to even get a shot off. In the last 2 games over 48 mins he has 0 pts, 2 reb, 3 assists. That's pathetic, 2 boards in 2 games at 6'5? Really?

It was great he played well in feb vs mostly bad teams but now that he's back more to his norm for the season he doesnt need 24 mins a game unless he's hot. But Fran will act like he's critical the rest of the way now no matter how he's playing like he did Sunday. At least he's not forcing up shots I guess.

I’d like to see a plus minus on how many points/assists/rebounds you have compared to to person you are matched up against on the other team. Granted this isn’t 100 percent accurate either as sometimes you have to shift over on help defense and your guy ends up with an easy bucket. But I think it would be a cool thing to see.

The reason I asked the question was that it seemed like a blessing when JBo picked up two quick fouls in the first half. We played very well with him on the bench outside of the run we gave up at the end of the half. Then second half starts and the lead/momentum starts to disappear with JBo back on the floor. Just not a good matchup for him. Seems we are much better off with more athletic and physical guards on the floor against a team like Illinois. Hopefully we don’t have to learn this again in the NCAAs like a year ago….
I agree +/- for a game is many times a worthless stat, but it tells a story in this game for one player I believe

It sure is a lot easier to arrange player rotations after the game.

It's impossible to know if more minutes for one guy and less for another would have resulted in a win or not. All I know for sure is that average FT shooting out of Tony and Kris and that game is a W. The team played very well, and I really thought that Kris's 3 at the end was going in - it's been a fun ride the last 10 games.
