What will 2021 be like in College Football?

Over on the Nebraska rivals site: "How many players transfer from this dog shit program?"

With the pandemic, players do appear to be staying closer to home or transferring near home, in some cases?

Florida kids seem to highlight this trend, if there is a trend to be found?

Will we see more of the top players from the MAC attempt to move up to the Big Ten?

Disappointed players, the 4 or so in the portal at Iowa, they likely move down to G5 schools or a program not ahead of Iowa?

Will a star seek to play for an "elite" program in a quest for a title or championship?

It could have a huge impact on the Iowa roster in 2021 or 2022, but ultimately it hopefully should settle down at some point?

Will a developmental program benefit or get hurt by the new landscape?

Fans like to think down the line, the future, something Nebraska fans are troubled about, but clearly the future is overrated, when it comes to forecasting success of college football programs.

How many more years will Iowa be blessed having this man lead our helm?

Will the new landscape influence it?


For 42 seasons, Iowa has had only two head coaches.

Next year, the 2021 season, will be the 40th season, since Iowa won their first Big Ten title and Rose Bowl trip. It will also be the 40th anniversary of a young offensive line coach becoming a part of the Hawkeye Football family.

But, the college football "new" normal, whatever, that truly looks like, may not be fully known, until 2022 or 2023?

As Gary Barta pointed out post-game, the bowls are under financial pressure, like the individual college athletic programs.

Hopefully, everyone had a good Thanksgiving near or far?

Covid-19 didn't derail it too much for our family. Wasn't sure at one point.

Thankful, Iowa 4-2 and my native Nebraska wife choose to watch the ending with a B1G smile 🤫

Her first Iowa game at Kinnick. IOWA basketball is 2-0, Big Ten Football enters December play soon. And, plenty of new territory.
