Anybody know if that rumor is true?
If so I am retiring in Davenport.
Damn those are good burgers.

the house ketchup has such a cult following here the grocery stores sell itBurgers are the best for fast food. I also think they are better than Five Guys and all the other burger snob joints.
I think their fries are below average and don’t care for their house ketchup.

Aren’t they about like Burger King right down to a Whopper knock-off?
Tallahassee is the only I've had... a few times late at night after games. That is all they are good for... not a good burger. The best Whataburger I had was in Tallahassee Florida and second best was Tyler tx. Corpus is the home office so you might think they would be good there but not really.
it was pretty late when I was there . I was on my way to orange bowl, first one iowa went to in 2002-2003. If I recall correctly FSU was playing GA in the sugar bowl or something. I spent New Years eve in tallahassee. good timesTallahassee is the only I've had... a few times late at night after games. That is all they are good for... not a good burger.
I'm confused here. I'd heard about Whataburger for years, never had one. Finally had an opportunity when we went to San Antonio for an NCAA basketball tournament. I thought it was excellent. Not something I'd travel to Texas to eat, but excellent.Yes, interchangeable. Although WAB might have come first; they've been around forever. How in the world anybody could be excited about Whataburger is amazing and surprising to me. And better than Five Guys? Wtf? It's like saying you prefer canned spaghetti to homemade.
No kidding. Incredibly expensive and hard to find, and once you find it, hard to get there.I'd have to rate WAB better than 5 Guys - but that's based on the single store each I ate at.
The WAB I ate in Owasso OK was good. The 5 Guys in CR...meh.
Speaking of which, I wonder how that 5 Guys in CR is doing. That's a pretty expensive place to have a fast food store I'd bet. Every time I drive by it, 1 to 2 cars parked there tops. I've eaten there twice, and was the only customer there both times.
Terrible access, no drive through...I'm betting it doesn't last unless they do a helluva lunch business.
it is not even close to burger king at all. carl's junior is way more closely related to bkI'm confused here. I'd heard about Whataburger for years, never had one. I wouldn't compare it to Burger King, or even close. The comparison would be to Five Guys or maybe Hardee's.
I've never had an opportunity to eat an In-and-Out Burger.

I disagree. Carls's jr aka Hardee's, and the burgers are much bigger and thicker than BK. Hardee's chargrills 1/3-lb burgers.it is not even close to burger king at all. carl's junior is way more closely related to bk
the Carl's junior here was nothing like hardees if the Midwest even though they owned them. Incidentally Carl's just closed down all the stores here. We had hardees 20 yrs ago. Maybe they should have tried that again hereI disagree. Carls's jr aka Hardee's, and the burgers are much bigger and thicker than BK. Hardee's chargrills 1/3-lb burgers.
If you end up back in Owasso, go next door to WAB to Smitty's Garage Burgers. They make a FANTASTIC burger...and serve beer.
Off I believe it's E 96th N a little farther east of WAB, right? Interesting, I asked the locals I trained there about it and their reaction wasn't nearly as exuberant as WAB.
Then again, most of them were college graduates. Like I say, they had a serious woody for WAB ketchup.
Probably going back down there sometime in April or May and the hotel I stay at is across the street. I'll have to check it out.
Based on my internet research, the menu at both are virtually the same. And Carls Jr. also use the Slutburger series of commercials featuring Kate Upton.the Carl's junior here was nothing like hardees if the Midwest even though they owned them. Agreed.People are excited about the possibility of getting an average fast food chain in their town?

Davenport is getting a Freddy’s in the Village Shopping Center, a five guys in Utica Rige and rumor is two Portillo's in the area, one in Iowa, one in Moline.
The West end cannot support that high end of a burger joint. Portillos and Five Guys will be out by Utica and 53rd. Announcements are weeks away.
Even in franchise, most every In-N-Out I've been to from California to Vegas to Texas, the staff was very very good and the food was excellent.
Double double and well done fries animal style, please! Place is awesome.

A little shop talk here....1. It was a rumor about Five Guys
2. The rumor that it was coming to W. Kimberly Road was false.
3. We (WQAD) were able to confirm, though, that one IS coming to Davenport, on Utica Ridge Road.
4. KWQC first reported it was coming to west Davenport (false) and then that it was coming to Bettendorf (also false).
5. KWQC is fake news and everyone in the QC should watch/read WQAD.![]()
Shut your dirty whore mouth. In & Out is McDonald's without the full menu.
Whataburger rocks.....
