What's going on with Tony Perkins?

Its a long season. There will be less favorable matchups some games, injuries, poor shooting games, or just plain "off nights" for any player. Maybe several in a row. There might be a handful of superstars that are consistently good in every game in college.

Its a team game.

SEMO’s bigs were not so good but they had a couple of guards who could play for anyone. I think they made it tough for our guards. I think Tony is fine but they made him work for what he got. He did a nice job of distributing the ball as well.

Hope it isn't a lingering issue. We'll really need him down the stretch.
Agreed. He might be recovered from the injury but he just got off from favoring that side while he recovered. I was hoping that he'd take some time off between the last 2 games and get right but he still seems to be struggling.

Is he dinged up? Seems to be forcing it a bit inside. Really like TP's ability to penetrate. Will need better play from Tony if we are going to do well in the BIG.
Hes a solid down hill driver, a decent not great ballhandler. If you're not a great ballhandler its difficult to consistently shake defenders.

Hes being defended well, getting frustrated and forcing things.

Has nothing to do with a thigh injury in my opinion.

He seems a bit off for sure. Forcing things quite a bit. He needs to hit threes or midrange jumpers to open up that dribble penetration. Right now, defenders know he's going straight to the rack.

There are plenty of guys who can score, especially when Murray returns. Just keep the defensive intensity and keep the ball moving on offense. Don't force the issue and just be ready when good looks come.

Memory says his rebounding is way down too. He can be a very dominate player. Hope he gets it humming soon.
