Ok, I went to IHeart and KXIC and it was the Doug Gotlieb show.Use the link posted earlier to Hawkeye Sports Radio.
Go to www.youtube.com and search for "@IowaHawkeyesOfficial". Click the "Iowa Hawkeyes" channel (should be the first non-sponsored result). Then click on "Live" to see recently passed and upcoming streams. You can already listen to the entire first session replay if you want. The second session is scheduled to start streaming in a couple hours and there are already two people in the waiting room for it.Ok, I went to IHeart and KXIC and it was the Doug Gotlieb show.
Agreed. I find the beer prices much more reasonable and the lines way shorter as well😎Wow, it's nice watching from home. We noticed that even with the 8 mat view with the 85" tv we were still "closer" in viewing each mat than our typical seating would yield in an arena. And it's great to then zoom in on one mat to just watch a Hawk. No pylons blocking any view either. No knees and butt aching from inferior arena seats, and especially the best was not having to stand up for the constant stream of people who have to go get food, then go get a drink, then go to the bathroom, and then go get a snack.
And getting tickets for a group is not an easy thing. It's like a thorn in my mind all these decades until I get it done. What a relief to not have to do that this year! I remember when we got suites for $300 a person!! Now you have to add zeroes to that. My, how things have changed.Agreed. I really want to get back some year though. The energy in the arena is hard to beat. We were all set for Minneapolis in 2020, and I'm still pissed about that. But the prices have gotten just ridiculous. I penciled it out to maybe go this year, and it was going to cost more than it cost us to go to the Olympics last year, no joke.

Yes, it has grown on me, but I still miss being there. Almost all of the things you mentioned are big advantages. Sitting in my recliner with friends in the room able to move around and be comfortable, not having to deal with obnoxious fans for other schools, being able to choose what announcers you listen to, and so many more. But it's still not the same. Hearing the crowd when Steveson went down would have been something. And getting tickets for a group is not an easy thing. My living room surround isn't that impressive, but our reactions had the neighbors wondering what happened. I generally root for B1G wrestlers in the finals when points don't matter, but all the hype around Steveson and all the game-playing he's done the past couple of years, I found myself rooting for the underdog. It's not very often I root for Cowboys in the finals, but I kind of did for two of them this time.It helped us that I have a very good sound surround system, with Dolby Atmos capability, with ten speakers on the walls and ceiling. That doesn't count the 12 speakers/subs up front. My receiver took the feed and it really made it somehow sound like we were there. It got very loud when Steveson went down, and the guys here were very animated seeing that history. It dawned on me it's almost as if we were looking out of suite onto the arena.
Let me admit something to you. When that unprecedented stall call went against Ayala, after witnessing the fail of proper officiating on either his potential fall or neutral danger, a switch flipped in my head. We had already seen Starocci get his fifth, his first being accomplished greatly due to egregious stalling with impunity against Kemerer. This combined with how much I loathe the NIL age, and Penn State peaking a decade and a half in their dynasty with no end in sight, and us getting thumped by Okie State and Nebraska created a tremendous apathy in me concerning collegiate folkstyle. I'm not sure at this point I'm watching any more. Not much joy. It's a very strange feeling.
Thus, I'm actually I'm quite content the season is over. We'll see how I feel by next fall. Getting a step-out rule would help.
